beaconstreet (810), Washington DC, USA Sep 4, 2006 Spunkier than I expected, I’ll give it that. The people around us seemed to love this beer, though I wasn’t whisked away into a field of raspberry glory. A little bitter, like raspberry seeds. Good though. Probably would not order a pint of this.
thenick (583), North Bellmore, New York, USA Aug 14, 2007 Updated: Aug 17, 2008Re-rate - tap @ SPH. Pours a hazy deep red color with a quickly-dissipating pink head. Aroma is heavy raspberry with a bit of sour "funk" detectable as well. Taste is raspberry up front, with detectable malt and a mellow wheat finish. The beer is very smooth, quite refreshing, and avoids being overly sweet, which is always a challenge in fruit beers. bonbright7 (157), Huntington, New York, USA Aug 11, 2007 On tap. I had this funky wheat beer at a Southampton tent during a show and the fruit really came out. On a hot day, this was an outstanding pairing with bbq brisket and it was refreshing change from everything else I was tasting. goldtwins (3740), Nesconset, New York, USA Apr 4, 2007 Poured a hazy pinkish purple corle with a small owh. Aroma is sweet and candish. Raspberries domniate with just enough sweetness. Sweet and fruity with Rsperries still dominating. Not over the top in my aspect. a really nice fruit beer. If 8% this is a true panty dropper. PilsnerPeter (1477), Flushing, New York, USA Mar 15, 2007 12oz tap sample from Shoreline Beverage. Sampled the day I purchased it. Bright rusty red pour with a brief and thin bubbly white head; vanishes quickly. Lively bright raspberry aroma. It’s somewhat mild, but very natural, without any assertive artificiality, which some fruit beers have. Extremely mild, light bodied and drinkable. Very subtle raspberry tartness, and a light acicity, which gives it the great drinkability. Some wheat malt is evident in the extremely clean and abrupt finish. Overall it’s simple, straight foward and very light, but crisp and well made. beerbill (1319), Laurel, New York, USA Mar 9, 2007 On tap from Shoreline Bev. This beer poured a color similar to a deep rose’ wine with a moderate fizzy pink head that quickly receded to a thin ring. Very nice aroma of raspberries. The flavor is also mostly raspberries, but they do not overpower as in some fruit beers. Light on the palate and very refreshing, this beer is simple, as it should be. Another job well done by Phil Markowski.
