Tap at the Publick House, poured into a pint glass. When I think of the Britsh this is the beer that comes to mind. First of all its just slightly dark pale colored with a mediocre head. So at first a bore, but just not boring enough where someone may actually find this to be a "nice" looking beer. The beer itself screams "the British are coming, the British are coming." It is rather harsh, i almost feel like rocks are scratching my throat. Yet in a subtle way, where you want to appreciate its texture. It has a slight fruity aspect but a british fruitiness, meaning no sweetness or anything tasty. And very dry of course, where would the Brits be without that dryness. Leaves a nice long bitter aftertaste, just so you remember you are drinking a British ale. So nice job recreating something a merry old chap would love.

On cask at the Southampton Publick House. Pours a clear orange gold with a small white head. Aroma of grains, light hops and yeast. Taste is a bit watery with hints of grains and light hops.

Tap at SPH - Amber, off white creamy head. Lightly sour nose of florals, citrus, and hints of sweet malt. Flavor held notes of light citric and floral bitterness throughout. Light bodied, light carbonation, dry, soft hoppy finish. Nice rendition and very drinkable...

Clear orange with a great looking head. Aroma has light citrus and earthy hop notes, mild caramel malt, some toast. Flavor is much the same with noticeable, but thankfully restrained, bitterness. Easy going and quite refreshing. I wish this was easier to find.

on tap, SHPH night, Blind Tiger. Golden/light orange in color with a medium head. Aroma is floral hops, caramel, with notes of fruit. Taste is fruity, orange, with a good amount of floral hop character. Lightly bitter finish that lingers nicely. Haven’t had that many of these but seemed to be pretty well made.

Draught at Waterfront Ale House, Bklyn. Amber with a frothy white head, leaving sheets of lacing. Straw and grainy malt aroma with a light fruitiness. Flavor of sweet cereal malts with notes of light citrus and grass. Couldn’t really note any mineral additions. Mildly bitter hop finish. Nothing exciting, but very drinkable nonetheless. A pretty good session ale, if anything.

Tap @ SPH. Pours a more golden color, which is a surprise for the style, with a small, lacy white head. Aroma is caramel and malt, with a slight detectable hop and rye as well. Taste is caramel malt, with a grainy characteristic in the middle and a nice aftertaste of hops. This is a great example of the style, and a nice offering from this absolutely fantastic brewery.
