Excellent, perhaps my favorite witbier. Not as citrusy as Hoegaarden, but yeastier and stronger, with better mouthfeel.

Oct 8, 2008 (Bottle from 1828 Vintage House) Pours fairly cloudy golden with only a very small off-white head. Lack of head is quite surprising esp. since beer was decanted into a weizen. Body is also clearer than I would have expected. Hmmm. Inviting aroma of citrus, spice, bread and yeast. Mouthfeel is wheaty smooth with a decent amount of heft for the style. Flavor of citrus, spice and bread with a bit of a wheaty, boozy quality like in a weizen bock only in a lighter, more refreshing style. Maybe a touch of pepper in the finish and aftertaste. Kind of nice!

Oct 5, 2008 Poured a cloudy light yellow with a small white head that did leave a little bit of a lacing. It was very easy to drink and was wheaty with a little light spices. You could taste the yeast.

Oct 1, 2008 Light pale with white head that left some lacing. Aroma was grassy/musty and slightly fruity. Citrus and spicy flavor, clean and little hop profile. A nice easy drinking and flavorful summertime brew, with a bit more kick as a double.

Sep 30, 2008 Cloudy, tan-olive colored pour that leaves lace on the glass. Pungent, citrusy aroma with strong floral and malt tones. This is quite robust for a witbier. The Belgian yeast flavor comes thru clearly, and other flavors are noticable too - orange, snappy hops, and a little coriander. More malty-yeasty than gently sweet, this is a spicey wheat ale that you could sip while watching autumn raindrops fall. This is my first rating of a Southampton Publick House brew, and you can color me impressed.
