Our imperial, Baltic-style porter is inspired by the strong, dark brews exported from Great Britain to Eastern Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries. Rich and flavorful with upfront notes of chocolate, caramel and toffee.

Pours a nice deep dark brown with hint os ruby on the thin edges. Aromas of raisin toast with malt behind it. Flavors compliment the aromatic profile. Body a touch thin to my thinking but overall a very nice brew.

Appearance dark brown, good amount of lacing and lots of sediment. Characteristically smooth for a good porter. Notes of chocolate, coffee, malt, oak, hop and bits of citrus really makes this stand out.

Pour is a dark chocolate black with a tan head. Aroma is of chocolate and malt. Taste is thick and full of chocolate and coffee. Finish is full. This is a great porter, I will find more of this.

12 ounce bottle from mstrcrwly. Very dark with some amber highlights. Just a little foam and quickly disappears. Not a big aroma. I smell some roast and tobacco. The flavor brings some lactic notes along with roasted and toffee. Dark fruit brings an interesting aspect. Alcohol is not so much tasted as the heat is felt in my stomach. Burnt brown sugar. The flavor begins with some harshness but very quickly settles into much smoother tastes. Somehow a zingy feel. Tasty stuff.

Black pour, decent sized head. Lighter carbonation. Roasted malt, dark chocolate aroma and taste. Simple, if not somewhat muted.

12 oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Black hue, zero visibility with mostly lasting light brown fizzy head. Virtually no lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and milk chocolate. Dark roasted malt taste up front with more of a roasted malt and chocolate finish. This had a dry finish. Overall I thought this was a really good beer.

Bottle. Thanks ModeEngage! Clear dark reddish brown with a small, foamy tan head that lasts on the edges. Aromas of roasted and toasted malts, light vanilla, nuts and chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, light vanilla and toasted nuts. Medium bodied, smooth with a dry and bitter finish. Lingering roastiness.

12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. As good as any of the premium porters out there in the more expensive market. Donít miss this one.

Dark copper, clear, lasting head, sparse lacing. Middle body, moderate flavor, silky texture, just enough alcohol heat. Bittersweet, almost tart, balanced, bitter but not too dry a finish. Mid roast flavors, bitter chocolate, Pleasant if not exciting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle (from notes) allowed to warm for about 15 minutes, then served in a snifter. A: pours a deep, dark, clear mahogany but is opaque and nearly black in the snifter. The frothy light brown head is mostly short-lived but leaves some lacing. Aroma: mild-to-moderate strength. Dark malt and fruits, especially prune and raisin, notes of dark sweet chocolate, hints of alcohol, a bit of burnt raisins, and a smidge of roasted black express beans.
