COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our imperial, Baltic-style porter is inspired by the strong, dark brews exported from Great Britain to Eastern Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries. Rich and flavorful with upfront notes of chocolate, caramel and toffee.

Rating 699 for this one. 12 oz bottle. Sweet nose is lightly chocolaty, slightly more roasty, with some acrid/acidic tones. Dark brown pour with a large, slick rocky tan head. Taste semi-sweet with nice ashen roast, some toffee and restrained fruits, minimal hops, touch of bread in with the chocolate at the back. Dense small-bubble crispness in the fullish body, smooth and very gently warming. Simple but supremely smooth, classy but a little dulled.

On tap at Capone’s. Served by Matt Capone himself! Pours a translucent clear dark brown with rich red hues when backlit. Head is off white, rocky, huge and lasting with thick lacing. Aroma is mild but full: roasted malt, cocoa, dark fruits, cherry, fig, and light gingerbread spice. Flavor is full and lingering on the palate: same as above with great carbonation that ties it all together. Haven’t had in years, was great to try again.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured in very dark (almost black) shade of brown, medium tan head and some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits and some roasted malts. Taste is consistent, some coffee and a very nice and balanced bitterness from hops is also there. Nice enjoyable beer.

bottle to glass; bottle received from tgncc. been wanting to try a brew from this brewery for awhile and Baltics are my favorite. This was a good beer. aroma of sweetness - licorice and/or dried fruits, some roasted things also. darrrrk brown pour. really chewy mouthfeel - love that! Taste was good; not great, but damn close - great parts not sure it all came together - a little smoke, burnt, licorice, more sweetness; light hops. Thanks Tom

Draft at Eulogy. Very dark clear brown pour with some lasting tan foam. Bit standard but has some interesting liquorice root notes in the back.

12 oz bottle purchased at John’s Grocery. Black appearance with a small tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, licorice, molasses, earthy yeast, chocolate, noble hops and caramel/toffee. Similar flavor, dark, malty, sweet and fruity with minimal bitterness. Tastes a little old and stale, no freshness date. Medium body, slick and smooth with soft carbonation. Meh, it was OK, a little disappointing.

12 ounce bottle into snifter; no bottle dating, but was released recently. Pours nearly opaque dark brown color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, molasses, caramel, toast, toffee, raisin, plum, dark bread, light coffee, light licorice, herbal, and roast/toasty earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of dark/roasted malt and fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, dark bread, raisin, plum, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Good amount of earthy roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roast, molasses, toast, dark bread, raisin, plum, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of dark/roasted malt and moderate yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy, smooth, and fairly chalky/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Baltic porter. All around good balance, robustness, and complexity of dark/roasted malt and moderate yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours near black with a creamy brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has notes of musty dark grains with light chocolate, roasted malts and a bit of toffee. Flavor starts with dark grains and roasted malts with a bit of chocolate coming out in the finish.
