tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA Mar 9, 2008 Solid porter of the baltic style. This is a style that should be exploited more. Its a porter that hits you hard with its notes of chocolate and smoke. Dark and delicious...just like I love my men.
colemgm8 (355), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Jul 25, 2008 ’06 bomber shared with The Beer Cellar - thanks! pours a deep black with a good size tan head. This one would be better fresh - it seems to have lost something over time and is a bit thin and very flat. some dark fruit on the palate and quite soft. also a bit of licorice is evident. a very good beer... would like to try one fresh to compare. Sparky27 (430), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 25, 2008 Bomber from Santa. Pours a nearly opaque black with one finger tan head with decent lacing that doesn’t stick for long. Nose is chocolate, some dark fruits, roasted malt and a hint of alcohol. Taste is mild coffee, sweet dark fruits, dark chocolate and some salty roasted nuts. There’s a semi-bitter aftertaste that isn’t evident in the finish – comes on a bit later. Medium mouth feel. Decent brew. Tmoney99 (3429), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted malty and dark fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Medium dark chocolate bittersweet flavor with medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid complex beer. joekinty (154), rockledge, Florida, USA Jun 29, 2008 dark pour rich creamy head lots of strong chocolate aroma and flavor well balanced k4df4l (133), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 Aroma: light floral hops with faint aromas of cocoa and alcohol. Appearance: In the glass it looks pitch black but is actually deep brown when held to a strong light source. Tight off-white head that faded quickly to bubbles riming the glass. Flavor: Initially bittersweet chocolate, raisins, coca & dark fruits, yields to caramel/toffee with a slight tangy & grassy finish. Palate is a bit thin but none of the alcohol in the aroma is present outside of the slight warming sensation as you near the bottom of your glass. As the beer warms, the alcohol aroma becomes stronger & the bittersweet chocolate & tangy flavors begin to dominate.
