Hey, it looks like me and Adrian are the first 2 to rate this. Thanks, Adrian. Toasty, yeasty aroma. A dry, bready pilsner, that tickles the palate. Very nice, snappy brew.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow liquid gold with a small white head. Aroma of bitterness, grains and yeast. Taste is bitter with notes of grains, yeast and light lemon. A refreshing warm day brew.

Rating #500. Tap at SPH. Pours your normal clear gold with a slight but fluffy white head. Aroma was slight floral hop with a nice malt and grain crispness noticeable as well. Taste is wheat and grain up front with a malty and slight floral hop backbone to it. The beer remains smooth, crisp, and drinkable throughout, and I think it was a wonderful Pils.

On tap at SPH. Pours a golden yellow, clear, with a slight white head. Aroma of sweet malt and light fruits. Flavor has a nice wheat base with a sweet fruity background. I got lots of blueberries in it. Palate is a bit weak, but overall, a nice sweet beer.

On tap at the Publick House. Not at all hazy/cloudy as the case with other locations. Grassy, grainy, mildly spicy aroma, a bit harsh all around. Flavor starts off in the same harsh manner, but after a bit some mildly acidic fruit shows its face and the graininess turns into more pleasant wheat. The hop character remained oddly abrasive in terms of meshing with the other flavors. Admittedly my first of the style (and of the three grouped styles), but just didn’t do it for me.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 sheatripper (863) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUN 6, 2007
Draught at Pete’s Waterfront. Standard gold color, silightly hazy, with a little foamy white head. Fresh grass and lemony aroma. Light cereal malt and lemony/underripe orange hop flavors with some flower nectar/honey notes throughout. Tame but noticeable hoppy bitterness on the finish. Pleasantly off-sweet and nicely balanced. Light to medium bodied and exceptionally drinkable without any thinness or wateriness. Pretty nice.

on tap at the Blind Tiger. Very hazy yellow in color, I actually thought this was the double white when I saw people drinking it. Aroma is bready yeast, grainy pils malt, and lightly sweet. Taste is bready and light to moderately hoppy. Pretty enjoyable, seriously unfiltered pils.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dickinsonbeer (5075) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUN 3, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2010 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazed golden with a fluffy white head- lasting the whole way- leaving tons of streaky lace. Aroma is toasty bread, light cracker, moderately solid pils malt, light dough and light grassy herbal german hops. Flavor is soft and mostly delicate, with a doughy yeasty bread character, yet still crisp and nice herbal light grassy hop and mineral finish and very smooth. I think the 12 oz bottles are even better than the 3 times I had it on tap this summer. Pretty good price on the 6-packs means Ill probably continue to buy this as long as it stays fresh. Mostly surprised at how good this is coming from latrobe! Lion and Saratoga contracted SH always came up short for me.
2007 rating:
Tap at Blind Tiger. Pours a hazy dirty yeasty dull yellow with a fluffy white head that fades a bit. Aroma is doughy, yeasty, a bit of sulfur left over from fermentation, earth and nice pils bready maltiness. More dough and yeast flavor with hints of earthy hops, light citrus, and some spice. Ok bitterness, and fairly smooth. I prefer the Triumph keller to this one, but still good.

On tap at the SPH. Arrived at the table a crystal clear medium gold with a thin white ring that left farily nice lacing down the glass. Llight aroma of yeast and slightly woody. The flavor was very refreshing with some yeast, some biscuit flavors, and moderate hoppiness. I paired two pints of this beer with the Cajun Tuna special and enjoyed both very much.
