Loads of cinnamon and nutmeg which are the main spices in the pie thing and after that this thing becomes a mess. I wanted to enjoy it but poured most of it out. Just wasn’t very good. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured into my guinness pint glass.
Textbook pour. Pretty rough pour that gives way to a nice one inch head that quickly recedes. Good looking beer in a glass.
Smell is allspice and quite a strong presence of nutmeg. The underlying alcohol and pumpkin come through, but much lighter.
Taste starts off with a kick of spice. There is a decent amount of carbonation and a good amount of bitterness on the end. The pumpkin and spice is well balanced in this beer. This is my first Southampton offering and will definately seek out more of their beers.
Glad I tried this one. Dickinsonbeer (3449), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 10, 2006 Sampled side by side with the Weyerbacher and liked the weyerbacher a lot better. This one pours a light orange with an ok lasting head, and some lacing. Aroma is of bland pumpkin spice- cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, with some other off phenols. Body and flavor is surprisingly light with more spicing, not as oily or rich as the weyerbacher. Finsih is li8ghtly bitter and dry. Slightly above average for a pumpkin ale, but not great. matta (1138), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a darken shade of amber and a wispy white head. Aroma is vast with spice, sweet malts and a hint of cooked vegetable on the close. The flavor is the same but trails with some cooked carrot sweetness, brown sugar, and tang of cabbage. I find a wonderful texture to the palate, even though it is a bit thin. Mostly rich, oily, with a sticky conclusion; a great holiday beer! ogglethorp (887), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2006 Bottle. Pours a crystal clear amber color with a small off white head. Aroma is spice, nutmeg, clove, raisin. Flavor is malt, ginger, clove, cinnamon, caramel, nicely done. Palate is dry, between light and medium bodied. This would be the best pumpkin I’ve tried thus far. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 4, 2006 (Bottle 65 cl) Pours a clear, dark amber with a small, off-white head. Aroma of cinnamon. Medium body, quite dry with distinct cinnamon flavours. Rather hoppy finish. 011206 Ungstrup (15111), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 3, 2006 A hazy amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of pumpkin and spices. The flavor is sweet malty with a very perfumated pumpkin note - I find it a bit too perfumated. And the body is a bit weak.
