Pours a deep garnet-tinged copper with a sudsy off-white head that falls to foam. Smells yeasty and bready at first; that gives way to some coriander. Attack is surprisingly sharp; it’s the usual medium body and light carb but the flavors are a bit caustic for a dessert-y, amusing seasonal beer. There seems to be too much hop in here; there’s a bite-y spiciness on the finish, too. Maybe they mixed up a fraction on the coriander or something. This one’s a little out of control. puzzl (2619), New York, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 24, 2006 Very spicy, this one. The spices are almost completely dominant in the beer. Little to no pumpkin flavor, this compeltely relies on huge amounts of cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar. Beery aftertaste as usual in the style... I’d love to see these spices put on top of something more interesting than an amber... saison, perhaps? Stout? Even a lager? Had this on thanksgiving 2006. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 24, 2006 22 oz bottle. Copper with a thin tan head. Carrots, cinnamon and nutmeg. Slightly sour, brown sugar, yeast with pumpkin pie coming out. Medium light body, medium carb. Good pumpkin brew but I expected something with more distinction from Southampton. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 24, 2006 Thanks to Sliffy. Pours a medium orange with a average head. I did not think the aroma and flavor had much pumpkin pie in it. If I didn’t already know what kind of beer it was I would not have been able to point out the aromas. It was in there but vary faint. Other than that it was not bad. A pretty decent flavor. Mild malts and spices. smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 23, 2006 Bottle - deep amber body ... beautiful. Beige head, tightly bubbled. Aroma is mostly pumpkin pie spice. Maybe a touch of nutmeg. Flavor is very nice! Quite like a pumpkin pie. Just a touch of bitterness at mid swallow gives way to the pumpkin pie finish. Slightly fizzy. A very nice way to finish my worst ever Thanksgiving ... don’t ask. Sammy (3979), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 19/20 | Nov 22, 2006 Real pumkin pie. Sweet cinammon and brown sugar in aroma and in taste. Spices that could go for an xmas beer too.White ice cream head on orange body. Not for everybody. Good medium smooth mouthfeel vanilla ice cream. Mild secondary bitterness. WIth food unless you are a fruit beer freak.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 21, 2006 22 oz bomber. This beer pours to a bright, deep orange color, with a soapy white head that fades, and a moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is classic pumpkin pie spice all the way, with aromas of cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. The palate delivers some good sweet/bread malt flavor, paired with some really good "squashy" pumpkin flavor from the use of real pumpkin. This beer finishes with more good malt and pumpkin up front, then ends with some more pumpkin spice flavors that lingers. Well done pumpkin ale, well worth trying if you are a fan of the pumpkin beers. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2006 Draft, Aroma: Typical pumpkin beer aroma, but leaning a bit more towards the spice. A bit of light citrus and grassy hops, too. Appearance: Dark Amber with a reddish tint and fairly clear. Off-wjite head was small and rocky. Not much lacing. Flavor: MEdium sweet maltiness with a nice caramel not. Pumpkin is a little more pronounced then in most other pumpkin beers I’ve had. Spices are strong, but don’t overpower. Again, getting a touch of citrus and grass into the finish. Finishes fairly dry. Palate: Medium bodied and a little watery. Medium carbonation. Overall: Better than most pumpkin beers I’ve had this season, but still not great. I liked the spice and pumpkin flavor, but didn’t like the mouthfeel.
