Spiced nose with cinnamon and nutmeg, rather sweetish too. Spiced flavor too, with caramel maltyness doing most of the work. Medium body, and spiced finish. Sure a drinkable beer, maybe it needs food to go with it. Anyway, it didn’t turn me on. (080301) MartinT (5080), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 26, 2006 Bottle. Pours amber with a small white head. Smells of amber malt and pumpkin pie spices with a splash of hops. I wish it had as much flavor. Tastes light and watery with lots of amber ale qualities, but next to nothing I’d associate with a good pumpkin beer. Tea like hops and some sweet malt is present, but where are the pumpkin pie spices? This is supposed to be a pumpkin ale. Wait a minute...as the beer starts to warm, some hints of spice pops out only to fade back away. Great as a session ale but a big disappointment as a pumpkin ale. Finishes semi sweet with some ginger aftertaste when the beer’s gone. JoeMcPhee (5056), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 29, 2006 22 oz bottle. Deep golden/orange colour with a thick and lasting off-white head. Aroma of allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove but the spices are bright and clean. I don’t get a whole lot of pumpkin in the nose. Flavour is quite good, beautiful balance of spices over a clean bready malt base. Warming brings out some nuttiness as well that helps add a bit of complexity. ¾ (5011), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Bottle. Clear - filtered. Copper burnt amber color with a patchy off-white head. Decent creamed pumpkin nose, mildly spicy, with a mild caramel malt note as well. Fresh first taste, a little waterey, or thin, but flvor-wise it’s mild pumpkin spice, more pumpkin pulp than spice. Finishes a little thin and empty, actually. Cornfield (4981), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Nice looking beer - bright copper with a creamy orange tinted head. Good lacing. The aroma has the usual pumpkin pie spices - allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon. Can’t smell any malts. Fortunately, the caramel malt pushes forward in the flavor and the spicing is subdued. The finish has a mildly earthy bitterness. Not bad for the style.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 15, 2008 Bottle@Home. Nice spicy aroma with cinnamon, nutmeg and tangerine. Amber color, tiny beige head, no lace. Sweet, light bitter, rather fruity, cinnamon, laurel. Light sticky and flat. Not overwhelming yet interesting complexity. But still more like a soda or fruit juice then a real beer.
