Frauditor (127), Hagerstown, Maryland, USA Mar 13, 2008 bomber from bob. Thanks! Pours yellow and clean. Pillowy fluff head. Smells are bread, flowers, and ginger. Taste of floral, rusty iron, and dry martinis. A wonderful saison.
pantanap (793), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 11, 2008 750ml bottle thanks to andy.... pours a cloudy golden yellow brown with an extremely full thick white head that took a few minutes to diminish..... aroma of sweet candied sugar and generally pretty sweet. malty with lots of yeast.... flavors faired for the better. sweet still but with a nice dry finish. not overspiced which is well-welcomed in my book. lively mouthfeel also works with this saison. def. pretty nice! presario (2441), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Oct 7, 2008 Mega-giant white head. Bright amber turns cloudy as you pour. Lively dancing nose. Hops and a hint of Belgian farm. Light airy body. Gently sweet. A little bit sour and tangy. Hoppy funk, although not as funky as some of the Belgian examples.. Belgian IPA or American Triple. The_Captain (331), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 7, 2008 Bottle at the KSBF- Light hazy gold pour, good foam white head. Light, pepper spiced with a yeast-grassy body and very slight citrus notes. Earthy and lively with a dry finish. A great farm house Saison. afireinside96 (498), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 5, 2008 Had at the KSBF ’08. Can’t remember if it was on tap or poured from a bottle. Lightly hazed gold body topped by a big fluffy white head. Peppery, phenolic, lemon nose. Tastes of candy, spicy esters, grass, lemon. Very crisp with a dry finish. Delicious. Old_Mr_Crow (1044), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 27, 2008 Bottle.
Pours hazy gold with a lovely white and fluffy head. Nice spicy aroma, plenty of orange zest and pepper, and a flavor that follows. Full, intense flavors and a pretty full mouthfeel, think of this one as a more spicy-orangy less funky-musky Avec Les Bon Vieux. Excellent though by the end of the bottle it was starting to wear on me, unlike some of the other more sessionable saisons out there (Avril, I’m talking about you!)
