3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MartinT (6928) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 9, 2011
My Bottom Line:
Exuberant yeast showcases banana esters and dough within buoyant floral, herbal hops and comfortable cereals for a delicious American Saison.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the misty golden.
-The fluffy natural carbonation made this quite drinkable.
-The flavor profile is perhaps more intense than your average Saison.
-The yeast signature was quite loud throughout, but it never felt out of place.
-Citrus fruit emerged once in a while.
Bottle.

In short: A rustic, tasty, fruity and slighlty tart blond Saison. Very good.
How: From a bottle at Mondial de la Bière 2011
The look: Almost clear light blond body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is quite rustic with notes of sweet bananas and mangos. Nice full body with a fluffy mouthfeel and a lively carbonation. Taste showcases the rustic character of the beer with both a dusty attic and a barnyard sensation. Plenty of fruity flavors including bananas, mangos and lemon zest. Light hops presence that feels a bit herbal, a bit flower petals. Finish is quite dry A nice tartness. A friend told me that I have to like this beer if I like Saison. He was right but don’t you hate people that let other people tell them what to think? Of course you do.
