2005 Bottle; Nose of some tartness, yeast,,and light spices; hazy urine colored with a small white head; flavor has a light horse blanket, cloves, nutmeg, and corriander, and some grainy breadiness. Very good saison, I should have shared it with Odeed, this is one he might have tolerated!

From a caged corked 750 ml. bottle with a short blurb on the back label, no bottling/freshness date I could find, sampled at cellar temperature in a chalice.
Poured a hazy orangey golden with a tight, creamy, foamy white head, good retention, a fair amount of laced sticking.
Aromas of earthy, bready yeast, herbal spices, lemons and oranges, and sweet grainy malts.
Good, airy carbonation to keep things light and a crisp, dryish, smooth light bodied mouthfeel.
Nice, pleasant saison taste, earthy, spicy yeast, softly tart lemons and orange zest, dry herbs and a little dirty leafiness, sweet, grainy malts in the background that mixes with the alcohol, a slow warmth in the palate and a dry, spicy, herbal, malty finish.
Good, easy lingering drinkability, another nice ale in the 750 series.

PA bottling. Medium to deep gold, very nice head. Aroma is floral perfume, orange blossom, and a hint of spice and bread, very nice. Bready malts are the start, moving slowly into a floral hop finish with some orange undertones. A bit of a perfume note as well. This is a very nicely made saison, and one of the better brews in my opinon from their contract brewed series.

2005 bottle which seems a bit on the sour yeasty side but has good carbonation, a nice refined finish and some grassy sweetness to it with citrusy overtones. This is a pleasure for me as I first enjoyed wheat beers before ratebeer expanded my horizons. It has the citrus and spiciness I desire from summer beers with some complexity thrown in. Th spicy factor reminds me less of coriander but more of peppery spices.

2003 bottle. I was holding onto this for a while now. Finally, found the right oppurtunity to open this up with some great people at a little sour night thang. Wouldn’t think this would be sour but pleasantly surprised. Lots of nice tartness mixed with a lot of yeastiness. Very different from a fresh bottle. Still poured beautiful with a strong frothy head and a beautiful orange body. Farmhouse funk, tartiness, and yeastiness all mixed up with a nice sweetness. Mag-no-fic.
