This is the same beer that used to be known as "Wee Heavy Scotch Ale".

Note: 5+/10

Bottle 750ml. Pours dark brown with high beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is of caramel, sugar. Taste is of caramel, sugar, malt. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Soft-medium carbonation. Overall: Nice nuts. Nothing overdone. Somewhat well-balanced.

Bottle (750 ml) shared at tasting. Slightly hazy amber with a medium persistent tan head leacing little lacing. Aroma is fruity but the main component is unfortunately cardboard / oxidation... there’s also caramel and vegetal notes. Taste is mildly acidic with cardboard, fruits and caramel. Low sweetness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Fruity finish. Over the hill. Nice fruitiness though.

Pours a clear brown with a high white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of caramel and slight dried leaves and tobacco. Some vegetal angles, I guess. Taste is of caramel, toffee and oxidized alcohol. Medium body, medium-high carbonation. A bit past its prime, maybe. Alright.

Bouteille 750ml, bottle share. Couleur acajou pâle trouble, mousse beige foncée. Arôme de malt caramélisé, raisin, caramel, levure. Goût de malt caramélisé, oxydé, carton. Carbonatation très élevée, corps moyen.

pours hazy/cloudy light brown, burnt orange tint, with a nice beige cap offering minimal retention and lacing. rotten fruits - dusty red grapes; doughy caramel maltiness, candied red fruitiness, hint of smoke, some sweetness - brown sugar and raisin maltiness; clean yeast. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; semi-sweet woodsy-fruity finish. pretty nice scotch ale - good red fruitiness depth.

Cette bière qui offre une belle mousse sur robe cuivrée met en place des choses comme du toffee, des fruits, des herbes qui sont cependant affectées par l’âge. Ceci dit, loin d’être inintéressant.

Bottle shared. Lightly hazy red pour with huge foamy white head. Aroma is oxidized, caramel, toffee, light cardboard. Taste is sweet, light fuirtiness, malty, dusty. Palate is med bodied, too dry with lots of carbonation, probably too old, no idea on the vintage though. Decent, unfortunately way past its prime.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 at Natifest. Pours a clear copper with no head. The aroma is dry and herbal. Herbal sweetness. Big body and low carbonation. Past its prime, but nice to have the opportunity to try it.

750 ml bottle shared by alexsdad06 - thanks again, Brad! He warned us that this one was old. Looked old. Faded plaid label. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Notes of caramel, cardboard, brown sugar, toast, nuts, and straw. Light-medium bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a dry, sweet mouthfeel. Obviously would’ve been better fresher, but still not bad in its old age.
