3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2009 750 ml bottle. Consumed with about 3 years of age on it. This one pours a very hazy, golden orange color and topped by a huge pillowy head of off white foam that shows great retention. Thick sheets of lacing coat the glass entirely. The aroma is very heavy on the brett side of things showing ample amounts of dry, earthy, wild yeast funk to go with the dried out toasted caramel malt and aged grapefruit and floral hops. The hops have faded, but the brett is really the star of the show. The flavors follows suit with tons of bretty earthiness, funk, and old wood to go with the bitter grapefruit, grass, and orange peel from the aged hops. The hops have almost completely faded while the brett has engulfed everything in the brew with its dry, funky profile. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation that leads to a crisp, bone dry finish. This drinks like a funky, citrusy saison with the perfect amount of dryness from the brett. This is definitely a tasty brew and one that has aged nicely thanks to the brett character. Good stuff,

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Notes from 2010 tasting. Appears a hazy apricot color with a big off white head. The smell is funky, light fermented tropical fruit. Taste us yeasty, funky, musty with a slight hop bite then mild bitter aftertaste. Super fizzy carbonation with a light/medium body. The carbonation pulls this down a bit from what otherwise is a pretty interesting brew.

IPA with Brett. Cloudy amber beer. A lively and hard to control thick white head. Mild barnyard nose. Light crisp and semi dry palate. A quality Belgian beer! Fresh hop dominated by fruity tangy yeast. Finishes soft, dry and with a slightly bitter aftertaste. The hop is dry tangy orange and grapefruit. Fresh wild IPA - nice!

Bottle from Juice. Pours hazy yellow with medium white head. This bottle was aged a bit, so the hop aroma was not as strong as the brett. Taste was clean, crisp, funky and dry. The hops were present, but if this was a fresh bottle I am sure I would have gotten the exact opposite of what I did. To be honest, I liked how funky it was after the aging. Great for a warm day.

Bottle generously shared at the RBSG grand tasting. Pours a cloudy yellow. Aroma is of forest and caramel. Flavor has notes of pine and caramel but also some tart fruit (strawberry) that goes really well with everything. Surprisingly sweet and enjoyable finish.
