drfabulous (739), Columbia, Missouri, USA Jul 11, 2008 Better as it warmed. But not an overwhelming triple. A bit mellow. Bit of the traditional flavors. Ok overall.
SuzyGreenberg (1028), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 30, 2008 22 oz. bottle - thanks to springslicker for the trade; bright gold, slight haze and carbonation; white head quickly fades; aromas of raw grain, lemons, yeast, bananas and cloves; nice aromas overall with a sweet graininess; thin body and slight tart; aromas are mild; grain and lemons; kind of blah Ughsmash (3078), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Sep 13, 2008 Bomber. Poured crystal-clear brighter golden with a short dusting of white head. The aroma was very sweet and very yeasty, opening with pale malts and spiked appley notes.. white pepper and coriander accents.. too aggressive and lacking some balance. The flavor opened with tany sour light fruit skins and peppery notes kicking the tip of the tongue around a little.. the middle had pale malts paired with a thick dose of spicy Belgian yeast.. finished with more peppery heat, vanilla beans, and a pinch of banana. Sharp at too many points on the palate to flow smoothly.. medium-plus bodied and syrupy with low carbonation.. bit too sweet as well. malrubius (455), USA Aug 28, 2008 22 ounce bottle split in Westmalle chalice. Golden orange with quickly disappearing big bubble head (and my glasses are perfect now. I use a bar cleaner triple brush and bar glass cleaner solution.) Nice spicy aroma with orange yeast and a little alcohol. Decent spicy honey tart orange sweetness with nicely balanced spicy hop dry finish. Medium body and carbo.. Some nice flavors in there but to assertive and not soft enough. The texture and fruitiness is too homebrew. Decent, but the best triples are extremely softly carbonated and very subtly fruity and spiced with effervescent vanilla sweetness (IMHO). Still, good. jbrus (4184), Delft, Netherlands Aug 26, 2008 Bottle@BlindTastingSession. Sweet aroma with tangerine, banana and dough. Yellow color, hazy, off-white head, fair lace. Very sweet, fruity sourness, light bitter, very fruity, light hoppy, sticky mouthfeel. Unbalanced and way too sweet. Poor attempt at creating a Tripel. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 19, 2008 Updated: Sep 27, 2008Bottled. Almost clear golden, minimal head. Fruity glue aroma. Sweet and papery with medium body. Flavour of orange, wheat malt and glue, together with canned pineapple in syrup. Some late bitterness. A bold and cardboardy, rather lifeless tripel.
