gotohelunc (390), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Apr 7, 2008 Draft. Rich malty brown color and nose. Smells of caramel as well. Nice clean tasting brown with some good malt/hop balance. Good sweetness in the finish. Biting carbonation keeps everything very clean. My favorite beer from this less than spectacular brewery.
cale422 (25), Timmonsville, South Carolina, USA Jun 6, 2008 Brown a tad cloudy off white head. Smooth brown malt flavor with a malty nose. Good thick mouthfeel and no off flavors in the finish Perm (141), Tryon, North Carolina, USA Apr 7, 2008 A nice dark brown ale. Emphasis on the dark, and there’s not as much in the nose as I’d hope for. However, it’s quite pleasant in the taste department, and the palate is smooth and silky. One of their better offerings. tever (35), Santa Cruz, California, USA Dec 29, 2007 Draught at the Charleston location. Clear brown, no head. Aroma is malty and somewhat sweet. Taste follows. Seemed very watered down, and pretty flat. Didn’t finish it. shrubber85 (2592), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Sep 17, 2007 Tap (labelled East Bay Brown). Light molasses malt aroma. Medium brown color with small head. Molasses malt and cherry flavor with a moderate hops finish. Solid hoppy brown ale.
