Southend Scottish Ale

Draught during my NC brew tour. Pours a deep, cloudy red with a firm white head. The aroma has faint hints of citrus with sweet caramel, vanilla, and tobacco. The alcohol is completely hidden. This is juicy on the palate with minimal earth and bourbon notes while the finish brings out a bit more tang. Not as complex as some others, but solid and very easy to drink.

Draught at the brewpub in Raleigh, NC. Clear dark ruby color with thin off white head. Aroma is complex with notes of campfire, tobacco, vanilla, and bourbon...like a boyscout outing, really. Slightly sweet with flavors including smoked meat, caramel, vanilla, and alcohol.
