4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer looks and smells great, but if you donít like sweet stouts, you wonít like this one. It is on the high end of the sweetness scale, almost like dessert in a glass. The pour is thick blackish brown with a 2-finger brown head. The aroma provides huge coconut, vanilla, dark chocolate, and roasty malt and oat hints. The flavor starts sweet and stays sweet. In fact, I could taste this in burps up to an hour later. The flavor is like a hazelnut mocha latte with some coconut and vanilla extracts added. This one reminds me a lot of Bethlehem Brew Works Hazelnut porter, only it is sweeter and thicker. As I noted before, traditionalists will probably hate this one, but those with an open mind will enjoy it for what it is.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at the Raleigh, NC location. Opaque black color with tan head that laced the glass. Chocolatey, roasty aroma with a touch of vanilla. Flavor is similar. Slightly sweet. Decent stout.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught. Very heavy chocolate aroma that you can smell from a good distance. Large dark, tan head, solid black body. Creamy head and aroma. Flavor is surprisingly light, with cream, chocolate, oatmeal, coffee, nut, coconut. Itís like they dumped all the leftover malt in one batch. Great beer, but it looks and smells a little better than it tastes.
