This is a fairly average NZ cheap beer. It is slightly inferior to the very similar Southern Gold.

The head is medium, body blond, amber. It smells malty, mild, The taste is malty, mild, bit sweet-fruity. Too mild.

Another stop on the tour of beer that I’ve tried just for the tick in the box: sweetish, fizzy, cold and forgettable. In all fairness, it was the least sweet of the lower mainstream price point beers, but not worth the effort. Golden and cheap.

Can. Pours a clear bronze with a nice dense white head that leaves some lace before fading into a halo. Aroma and flavour of bready caramel with earthy notes. Among its peers, not bad. Among the wider world of beers, a bottom-shelf product.

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, eggs, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of bread and light notes of cardboard. A bit boring. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Please see my rating for Southern Gold... This one is hardly different, except the caramel and cheap malt are more prominent in Southern Gold. Southern Draught is cleaner and overall easier to chug.
