Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a smallish light tan head on there. Nose has some strong roasting with a slight bit of caramel in there, and some subtler sour dark fruits to it. Taste is extremely roasty with some slight caramel/toasty sweetness to it underneath. Really very drinkable.

pours black coffee with short lived mocha foam which falls to a sheet of the same for a few dozen seconds. Nose is rich malts, oats, coffee, dark chocolate, some fig and graham. A slight note of rye bread. Flavor is a little less appreciable. Coffee, dry cocoa, graham, toasted grains and some dried figs. A little bit of licorice when cold, but as it warmed, this dissipated. Full bodied with moderate carb and a dry finish. Drinkable, but not something I will make a second purchase on.

On tap. Oddly sweet with very little roasted or chocolate malt flavor. Pretty heavy diacetyl gives it a slick oily mouthfeel. Not a good one

On draught at Bailey’s Taproom, bourbon barrel aged. Opaque dark brown color. Aroma is dark chocolate, oat, and bourbon. Taste is roasted and toasted grains, dark chocolate, and woodsy bourbon. Mouthfeel is a little watery considering the style. Finishes with some toastiness and alcohol.

Out of a 22. Pours a dark black with a small tan head. Smell is slightly sweet and roasted. Taste is dry with a late sweet hint. Roasted malts linger on the tongue.

22. Pours black with a dense and creamy tan head. Cardboardy oxidized nose, some roast and chocolate as well. Slick medium body. Soft carb. Chocolatey, cardboardy mid palate.

Appearance is a very dark ruby red having minimal head and lace. Smell of lightly sweet and roasted malt having a dark fruit and hop note. Taste has an overall mellowness having a light balance of sweet, roasted malt and hop with no hint of alchohol. Mouthfeel is medium - light having nice carbonation for the style. An easy drinking imperial stout.

Bomber. Poured medium-deep brown with a nice well-retained dark tan head. The aroma picked up sweet, roasty nutty and cocoa malts with accents of vanilla and a kiss of warm, dark fruit.. not terribly complex, but soft and well-balanced. The flavor found moderately-roasted black patent and blended chocolate malts with vanilla bean and complementary smoked malts around.. finished with a lot of grainy roast and a kiss of boozage. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate with a good overall feel and flow.. buttery smooth middle.. this was a solid drinker.

Tap @ Fifteenth Ave. Hophouse... Poured dark black with a thin, bubbly, light khaki head. This was off. Infected? Maybe. Tasted of a strong Belgian yeast note with plenty of thinness and esters to support it. Also some diacetyl in the middle which threw it off. Other notes of ash, toasted grains and roast. This one is worth skipping.
