Exclusively brewed with German specialty malts, our Maibock is a refreshingly crisp, spring festival beer with a pleasant malt character and a mild spicy hop twist expected from the style. This German style lager is conditioned for 12 weeks to ensure the perfect flavor profile.

From notes. Tasted on 12/23/12 from a bottle. Pours clear orange with an average off-white head that leaves average lace. The nose is malty bread with a touch of caramel and kids vitamin dusty hops. The flavor is really all about the bread with the hops a bit more of a crisp spicy note. The body is medium with average carbonation and a medium malty and lightly bitter hops finish.

On draught at Second Annual Humbug Lager Fest at Occidental Brewing. Golden color. Aroma is bready sweet malts and a hint of grass hops. Taste is caramel, biscuit, sweet malt, slightly bitter grass hops. The hops balance the sweetness nicely.

Clear copper color with beige head, creamy, fine bubbles. Very sweet, caramel, prunes, malt. Sweet, doughy, some cloves. Alcohol well masked. A bit too sweet for my taste but well made.

22 oz. from Chuck’s @ $5.59. Tastes how autumn smells. Not my usual style of beer to drink but exactly what I was looking for today. Leaves an interesting aftertaste that I can’t decide if I like. Fuzzy and thick. Sits on the tongue for a while. Malty without being too chewy.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Malt and light honey aroma. Malt and caramel flavor with honey. Medium bodied. Caramel and honey lingers with light earthiness.

Bottle:   Fiery golden, clear, moderate carbonation, moderate frothy head, spotty lacing.   Pale bready nose, slight honey, even slight pale fruit.   Smells nice.   Fairly sweet on the tongue, moderate breadiness, a touch of pale fruit.   Smooth, not too sticky, with a clean finish.   Good stuff.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   A little mealy on the finish, but not too bad.   Fairly enjoyable.

Bottle from Uptown Market. Pours a golden color with a quickly disappearing white head. Smell is malty and sweet. Taste is sweet and malty with a lingering sweetness on the palate. True to the maibock style.

Very unique flavor that kind of turned me off in the end. It must be the "Maibock" taste I don’t like.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours light amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma of cooked malt and cooked pitted fruit. Med body. Flavor is slightly bitter, cooked malt and fruit. That may not sound appetizing, but the alcohol level carries this off quit well. It is delicious.

Clear dark honey amber. Lasting white head. Aroma is caramel, lemon and oak. Sweet honey body, more caramel. Not cloying sweet. there is bitterness in the finish
