Dark brown, thin head, dark chocolate aroma and palate, a touch of chocolate syrup, and a sweetish, mellow finish with a dash of alcohol.

Bomber, from friends in Oregon. Rich roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate and coffee. Pours dark brown with one finger of tan head with excellent retention and very little lacing. Roasted malt flavors with coffee slightly overpowering the chocolate undertones, but not badly. Finishes smooth with more of the chocolate coming through on the palate at the very end. Solid porter.

11-Apr-10 (22-oz bottle: Purchased 30-Dec-09 for $4.24 at liquidsolutions.net)
The Porter is probably the best of the bottled beers from this brewery, but perhaps in part because it’s a fairly forgiving style in terms of hiding subtle flaws. There’s a lot of cola in the flavor, molasses, milk chocolate, cocoa, dark bread, a touch of prunes, and a hint of ashiness and day-old coffee in the finish. Cola, wood, chocolate, toast and dried leaves in the nose. The beer is medium in body, light-medium in carbonation, and despite the light sweetness, it’s still mostly dry on the palate. Clear in appearance and dark brown in color but light enough to allow some transparency through the center. The quarter-inch, off-white head settles rapidly to a ring. Good stuff.

Pours a half finger of tan head on a black body. The aroma is mostly burnt malt and wood. The taste is a smooth burnt and roasted malt with a mild lemon bitter finish. The texture is smooth with crisper edges and moderate carbonation. A nice solid drinkable porter. Enjoyable.

August 2012. 22 oz. bottle. Very dark brown with a tan head. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, spice and dark fruit aromas. I did not really detect the smoke, but a very good porter.

On tap. Pours a deep brown, nearly black, small thin head. Nice pleasant roasty nose. Lots of roast, coco, and malt taste. Dry clean finish. Very nice.

On draught at Living Room Theater. Not too heavy, sweet smokey chocolate flavor. Smooth finish.

22 oz. from Chuck’s @ $4.99. Smell bad! Like old gym socks. Comes out in the taste as well. sharp acidity. Possibly oxidized? Maybe I got a bad one...

Smells of med molasis. Flavor is a nice burnt fig. The color is med-darkness with decent head. Nothing outstanding
