Smells a bit like coffee. This is good. Sweet, a hint fruity. A very complex finish with a lot of roast. A tasty beer.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a one finger fizzy light brown head that faded to a thin film. The nose is quite grainy with a bit of nuttiness and dark roast coffee. A touch of burnt toast. The flavor is dry and roasty with a bit too much huskiness making it a little rough and grainy. Some syrupy chocolate notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a rough grainy texture and moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall not the smoothest Porter, the huskiness just maintains an annoying presence throughout. Combine that with the nutty notes and you just don’t have a very good Porter.

The 22 oz bottle came from Market of Choice in Ashland, Oregon and has been in my cellar a couple months. It poured a reich dark brow with a nice tan head and decent lacing. Nose of roasted malts with aromas of coffee, chocolate and burnt wood leading to a smoky ambience. Mouthfeel is light but smooth. Flavor is dominated by the roasted malts but these is a touch of hops, and the finish is mild. Overall this is a mild porter but is easy drinking and tasty.

Bomber, Capital Market Salem. Nice looking deep dark brown ale with a huge and lovely frithy/creamy tight tan head. Aromas of roasted coffee type malts, dark 70% Cacoa choclate! Flavour as above but with some really nice peppery and fruity undertones. Palate I rather enjoyed, its not a thick chewy porter but more drinkable even light( not a bad thing) more in the English style than the American porters.

Draft at Siskiyou Micro Pub. Nose of coffee and chocolate. Black with a medium glass lacing beige head. Flavor is tongue tickling wite pepper, chocolate, and coffee.

22 oz bottle from my local grocery. Pours out dark brown with a nice tan head and some bubbles and light lacing. Nice aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, light coffee. Very nice flavor involving chocolate, light coffee, an earthy hop bite and some very light fruit. Medium bodied with a solid finish. I will likely be drinking more of these as it’s tasty and fairly inexpensive.
