22 oz bottle from Johnís - Very crisp porter that hints at a bit of chocolate. Itís like they took coffee beans roasted over an oak fire and wrapped them with chocolate.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a wispy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of dry toasty, smoky dark malts and a touch of coffee. Starts with average fullness and just a hint of sweetness before a drier toasty dark malty bittersweet finish. A pretty good porter, but drier than I expected.

This black ale poured with a rich tan head and a smoky aroma. There is a chocolate and coffee flavor that is tasty, but not super rich. Very drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle transported by Alex. Thanks! Dark brown color with golden notes and a tan head that ran off at once. Great aromas of chocolate and coffee. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is coffee, toast/burnt malt and a bit of milk chocolate. Finishes pretty dry, very smooth, with something that might be wood smoke. Recommended.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very dark brown with some ruby highlights. Small tan head with some lacings. Cocoa coffee aroma. Tastes bittersweet chocolate, some coffee, and a perfect malt compliment. Silky on the tongue and the carbonation is just enough. Drinkability is very good at 5.5% abv. Great first beer from Southern Oregon Brewing!

22oz bottle. Dark brown/not quite black with thin head. Mild roast with a little coffee and chocolate. Smooth and drinkable. Hits the style right on and doesnít get too big, but still has plenty of flavor. No off flavors. Very solid.

Bottle... Poured deep brown with a khaki head. Malt and mocha aroma. Creamy palate. Flavors of roasted malt and chocolate with coffee and and hazelnuts in the finish. A little bit of a hop bitterness but the roasted malt flavor quickly took over.

Draught .. Poured dark brown with fast dissipating tan head. Much lacing. Aroma of malt, chocolate and a little coffee. Chocolate, roast nuts and coffee notes in flavour, with a finish rather like a good black lager.
