2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
My most disappointing beer at the brewpub. Light haze but a very light color. Foamy in carbonation, giving it a soft palate, but a very flat flavor profile, such that as the carbonation fizzed in my mouth it had an effervescence of a classic American lager. Little to suit my tastes. On tap at brewpub.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery. Another nice surprise from these guys! Iím in the minority of raters here that really love a good witbier. This is one of them. It pours a pale, slightly cloudy yellow with a small white head. The aroma has wheat with strong notes of lemon and lighter coriander. The flavor is powerful for the style with lots of wheat, tart lemon, orange and and toasty coriander. The citrus peel comes out in the finish. Very nice effort.

Good, but nothing impressive. I wanted a lot of ginger in it as the description mentioned ginger. Instead, it was noted with a typical spiciness and without any banana or anything other than grains. I wouldíve liked something more to smooth out the graininess and also bring out some ginger kick.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale yellow, slightly hazed brew with a fading white head. The nose is slightly wheaty - I donít get much coriander or orange to be honest - it comes across as a slightly spy American wheat. There is a definite bit of yeasty spice in here but itís subtle. Light lemon as well.

Draft. Straw beer with a whitish head. Wheat and light spice aroma. Wheat and spice flavor with light grain. Lighter bodied. Refreshing. Wheat and spice lingers with grain and light citrus. Didnít impress me.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Toronado the day before Southern Pacific opened. Sad I couldnít be at the opening. Pretty solid starting beer. Pours with a hazy but vibrant, pale straw yellow hued body with a large and lasting white head. Aromas are floral with notes of coriander, perfumey, black pepper, and spicy. Lots of curacao orange as well. Sort of a rye like spicy character, but it could also be yeast phenolics. Flavors are grainy, wheat, bready, grassy and mild esters. Coriander and some fruit esters. Lavender in the aftertaste. Pretty solid. A bit malt forward over the yeast (compared to others of the style). Lively bubbles, dry (very dry). Mild peppery spiciness. A good start, look forward to visiting the brewery soon!
