Wow!!! I lucked into this bottle and wish i could find more. 16.9oz bottle pours dark murky brown with a small beige head with great lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla and bourbon. Taste like candy made of bourbon, chocolate and hints of vanilla to smooth out the bourbon. I could drink this beer everyday for dessert it’s not to rich but prefect before bed beer. Great job Southern Star!!!!

16 oz. bottle via Texas trade. Thanks, Brian! Pours a deep brown with some amber shining through and an inch of khaki head that leaves spots and streaks of lace. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, coffee with cream, leaves, toast, and plums. Flavor of plums, berries, vanilla, chocolate, nuts, toast, and earth. Some oak and bourbon. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a toasty, fruity mouthfeel. Too much fruit. A little off.

16.9 oz bottle. Dark brown with beige foam. Nose is bourbon, wood, cocoa and caramel. Medium body with a buzz. Taste is bourbon and coke, dry and woody, finishing with cafe au lait. The barrel aging has diminished the base beer that i really liked. A slight disappointment.

Bottle:   Nearly black, deep brown edges, thin frothy tannish head, spotty lacing.   Big chocolate and cinnamon graham cracker nose, softer bourbon, vanilla, and coconut.   Perhaps some toasted marshmallows too.   Moderate roastiness, a bit spritzy, warming.   Seems higher than the 8.25% ABV.   A little tangy.   Some chocolate and coffee notes.   Smells more bourbony than the tongue finds it to be.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft bourbon notes linger.   Starts stronger than it finishes.   Not a big rich Imperial Stout, but entertaining enough.
