Wow!!! I lucked into this bottle and wish i could find more. 16.9oz bottle pours dark murky brown with a small beige head with great lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla and bourbon. Taste like candy made of bourbon, chocolate and hints of vanilla to smooth out the bourbon. I could drink this beer everyday for dessert itís not to rich but prefect before bed beer. Great job Southern Star!!!!

Tasted from can. Pours a cola black with light tan head. Aroma is bourbon, caramel, molasses, and vanilla. Well balanced with moderate bitterness and sweetness. Flavors of caramel, toffee, bourbon, nuts, molasses, vanilla and chocolate. Very well done bourbon stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 mL bottle shared with ebone1988. The pour on this one is a darker cola brown with a thin egg shell colored head that is very bubbly and falls down to a thick collar. There is a fair bit of soapy lace as it falls down. The aroma is very single-dimensional. It smells like a bourbon barrel. There is a strong booziness and a light malt that happens on the nose. This one will clean out the sinuses for sure. There is a light chocolate that comes through lightly, but it's pretty interesting I guess. The flavor is very plain and boring. There is a little bourbon barrel to it, and a nice woody character. There is a heavy bready malt and just a light bit of chocolate. It's not that good at all. There is no complexity and it's just not that great. The mouth feel is thin and light with a sharper carbonation and a lingeringly boozy, woody finish. It's just like dark bourbon barrel flavored liquid.

Bottle shared with koleminer20. 2014 vintage. Aroma is roasted malt, booze, bready, slight cocoa, maybe vanilla, tons of barrel. Appearance is dark dark brown, light tan head, poured thin. Taste is bready, roasted malt, lots of barrel, subtle booze, not much else. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, bready aftertaste. Overall, this one is not very complex, and not real good, but itís drinkable.

500 mL bottle. Almost black body. Smell is nutty with a little bourbon. Booze and a bit of chocolate. Taste is chocolate with some nutty malts and bourbon. Whiskey flavor lingers with some alcohol. Medium body. Not a very heavy or rich stout. Very blah.

Can from Whole Foods-Lamar. Mild, smooth, but the Imperial nature comes on late, lingering bitterness and mild burn. Chocolate, coffee, burnt toast.

Can at home. Pours black, thin head that quickly fizzles. Thin looking pour. Aroma is bourbon, oak, vanilla, licorice and faint cocoa. Smells nice. Taste is bourbon, vanilla, cocoa, slight red fruit, caramel malts. Taste is great. Thin mouthfeel / body for a beer with this flavor profile. Medium to High Carbonation. A nice beer!
