3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught. Pours black with a dark brown head. Aroma is roast malt and chocolate. Flavor is smooth toasted malt, chocolate, molasses, a hint of hops. Quite smooth, and hides the 8.25% ABV very well. Enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I had this as a nitro. The pour was ultra foamy. More head than actual brew. It had a black coffee hue. And taste to match. Notes of espresso but more faint. It does have a smooth wash down but it seems one dimensional. Like its lacking body. I think it has more in common with an imperial porter than a stout. It lacks boldness and balance. It would benefit with either more bitterness or bumping the ABV a notch.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours jet black with one finger of khaki head into a snifter. The aroma is very faint coffee. The mouth feel is a little bit thin for my liking on a stout. I really like the flavor on this one though. It has some really strong classic stout characteristics. There is a touch of dark chocolate and some definite coffee notes to this one. I am very impressed as my home town is about 20 miles south of this brewery.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bittersweet creaminess. Black beer with amber edges. Thin off white head. Drinking from can gives some astrigent-ness that disappears in a glass but so does some character.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Yard House Houston. A dense, finger thick beige head sits on top of a dark brown to black body. Nice curtains. The aroma is pretty roasted, with nuts, spent coffee grit and hints of bonfire. Hot tarmac too actually. Itís pretty dry on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Lots of roasted malts in the flavor. Coffee, bonfire notes and some dark chocolate too. Pleasant bitterness towards the finish. A beer that I could repeat, no doubt, even though I find it a bit one dimensional. 131111

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a very dark brown with a 2 finger tan head. The aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate, and very light coffee. The taste slightly sweet and has a roasted nuttiness and malts with some dark chocolate bitter on the finish. The mouth feel is not as thick as I expected but it was still a smooth drinking brew. This is probably my favorite local year-round stout.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Was a little worried about it coming in a can. Opening the can and not getting that presurized blast made me real concerned that this was going to be completely flat and nasty. Smelled really good with lots of choclate. It was a tad under carbonated but the taste made up for that with lots of chocolate malt with a slight smokey hint in there. Really good stout.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark, murky brown with a nice thin off white head. Big aromas of roasted toffee on the nose. Flavors of some roast, chocolate, and even a mild hint of coffee. This is a nice roasty stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can poured a clear brown hue w/ a small beige fully diminishing head and excellent lacing. Medium to robust malty aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a light bitter roast in he finish. Tastes are predominately roasted malts w/ undertones of nutty pecan. Medium bodied, watery mouthfeel, avg carbonation, and a dry finish.
