COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You hold in your hand a stout for stout lovers. Buried Hatchet is brewed with a large quantity of brown malt reminiscent of a traditional pre-Industrial Revolution malt profile. This stout is full of robust, roasted flavors which intermingle with a bittersweet creaminess that concludes to a perfect, warming finish.

Smells malty, almost chocolately. Average apperance and palate. Tastes pretty good - not as thick as I expected.

12oz can (courtesy of Headbanger) poured into a Snifter at 41°. It’s a deep near black brown with good carbonation and a tight tan head. Aroma is roasted malts with a hint of smoke. Body is full with a lightly sharp mouth feel. Flavor is deeply roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate. After taste is dry with a mild bitterness. Overall its a good stout but it seems a little light for an Imperial.

12oz can 4/2/15 (Courtesy of TerryR)-38° in Trappist Glass-Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Taste of the same with more coffee and chocolate on the back end. This full bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty.

Pours very dark with a thin, dissipating head. Roasty, roasty, roasty. Just enough bitter. One of my go to beers.

Sampled on draught at Moses Rose’s Bar in San Antonio. Very dark brown/black colour with a tan head. Aromas of roasted malt and coffee. The taste is rather sweet and creamy and has a very strong hint of coffee. Not particularly bitter. A little thin and watery (surprisingly, given the ABV), but fairly drinkable.

Pours dark, thick creamy with a small head. The beer has a sweet, malty aroma. Taste is a blend of sweet and creamy with a full body and a satisfying finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2015 It’s dark like motor oil. The chocolate aroma hits you immediately. This brew has a smooth rich chocolatey flavor with a good roasted taste.
