Poured the strangest dark urine colour- I have used that descriptor many times, but this was just very odd looking. Very little head and way too sweet for the style. Have these guys even ever had a BdG before, ’cause thhis was not even close.

Can...pours amber with a red tint and fast fading beige head. Not much aroma to speak of, vague hop, faint earth and hints of attic. Flavor is better, has an aged flavor blended in with hints of grain, faint hop, light earth, subtle malt with a butter note in the back. Light-medium body with medium-high carbonation....all said and done, I enjoyed it.

Can. Pours a nice cloudy amber with a subtle white head. Aroma is sweetened floral water with a hint of autumn leaves. Flavor is watery buttered leaves with a dull lipstick finish. Watery on the tongue. Seems incomplete.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2012 Re-rate from a can.

The beer has a much more grainy taste that I don’t really care for. Overall, the beer is not as good as I once remembered.

Growler from Whole Foods. The beer pours a hazy brown color with an off-white head. The aroma has a little bit of toffee in it as well as some biscuit malt. There is also a little bit of orange and apple in the aroma. The flavor is similar with a few additions. I get a lot of toffee and apple notes, as well as some yeast and spice notes. There is also some cherry in the flavor which is pretty nice. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pours a honey amber .. great foam, light lacing .. . refreshing stuff, a touch gassy .. . flowers, honey, apple, and touch of sweet yeast .. . pretty good stuff, but not quite sure what it is .. . . I can’t stand cheap people. It makes me real mad when someone says something like, "Hey, when are you going to pay me that $100 you owe me?" or "Do you have that $50 you borrowed?" Man, quit being so cheap!

12 oz can. Pours bright copper, clear with a small white head. Nose is grassy, slightly earthy, but very mild. Taste has a bit of graininess, some light maltiness, and tinge of bitterness on the end. Not much alcohol bite. Pretty plain and without any one standout quality. Very drinkable though and goes down very smooth. After my 4 pack is done I’ll probably not search this one out again though.

I wanted this to be something more... and it was. Moreover, it was different. The aroma is a bit fruity and only slave ghtly musty. The color is caramel and somewhat thin. A white head vanishes after 2 sips and the beer draws down clean. The taste is strong but tastes much like nothing in particular. Go figure. At last the carbonation is refreshing on the palate. Well, go drink one, and experience refreshment with a surprising lack of certainty.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a clear caramel amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of bread with some backing sweet grains and a hint of underlying light fruits. Flavor is a bit bland with notes of bread and grains with the slightest hint of light fruit in the finish.

(growler thanks to mar) cloudy burnt umber with a lasting creamy off white head. Nose of ripe banana, toasty caramel, a bit funky not in my favorite way. Taste is very straightforward ripe banana, caramel, bit of light spices, cinnamon. Finish is a bit watery. Not much like a biere de garde for me.

Growler thanks to me. Deep amber with a thick cream colored head. Nose is yeast, dried fruits, honey, dough, and sweet. Excellent thickness, flavor is caramel, dough, yeast, light florals, and dried fruits. Great creamy finish.
