3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slightly disappointed here. Syrupy stout with one dimensional mild chocolate flavor. Smells a bit of wet dog. Decent, but I'll stick to Mokah.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a dark opaque brown to nearly black. Tannish slight frothy head. Aroma is chocolate with a toffee or coffee note. Taste is a sweet roast malt and light chocolate with a slight bitterness coming thru. A very nice double stout indeed!

tap at Dash In - Pours black with a small light tan head. The aroma is of roast malt and chocolate. It has a sweet malt flavor with roast character and lactose notes. Full bodied, this brew has some bitterness coming through in the finish. Very good brew.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Poured a black color with a one finger foamy velvet head. Nice of aroma of cocoa, coffee bean, cream, tootsie roll. Medium sweetness. Light bitter. Creamy texture. Medium body. Light carbonation. Taste is like the aroma. Pretty good. Like the higher alchohol on the milk stout. Not sure I had a high alcohol one.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nearly opaque, brown-black beer, with a skimmy light tan head. Good label. Olivine, cold water, lightly fruity, roasted aroma. Tangy, a little metallic in the middle, sweetish, cola. Medium-heavy body. Quick, sweet finish. ABC Liquors, Bull Run.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Comes out of the bottle dark-chocolate brown with a fairly thick and rather persistent frothy, fine-bubbled wheaten head that leaves fairly thick lacing. Aroma has a core of roast, slightly burnt malt with notes of molasses, licorice and coffee. Lip-smacking flavor has notes of roast malt, mocha and molasses, with nutty and earthy hints. Smooth, firm texture has a decent amount of fizz and leaves a nice smoky, slightly sweet finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bonus courtesy of markwise. 12oz bottle pours dark brown with tan head of foam. The aroma has some nice chocolate and then it heads toward earthy malts and an echo of dark roasted malts. The taste is similar with some sweet malts riding into a bit of chocolate and earthiness. In between those notes are slivers of dark roasted malts. Overall the sweetness takes the lead in the flavor profile ahead of the various dark roasted notes.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The doubled strength comes across mostly as the added taste of booze (just how much darker can beer get, anyway?) and relegates the milkiness to an afterthouht. A good stout for sure, but others are both better and easier to find. I do appreciate the relative prominence of the hops that usually are subtle at best in dark beers.
