Odense spring time specialties night at Dolle. Dark brown with a small tan head. Malty aroma of toffee, caramel and milk chocolate. Sweet caramel and milk chocolate flavour with a touch of hard roasted malt coming out of nowhere.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle @ home, courtesy of jcnielsen. Thanks Jetson! 2X Stout pours a fairly clear, deep brown/black appearance with a small tan head. It has aromas of lactose, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and whipped cream. There’s a fairly rich, yet somewhat bitter hoppy, dark milk chocolate, roasty coffee, sweet milky flavor with notes of caramel and toffee. Sweet, chocolate dessert aftertaste. Pretty nice brew.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown-red, black outside of the light; looks dark but inviting. Slushy lace and head. The aroma is nutty and dry, with a sweetish end in the nose; alcohol is surprisingly present. Dark, burnt chocolate taste. Balanced by an unusually sweet, milky flavor. I’m not sure the two flavors mesh all that well. The feel is smooth and oily. I have to say I’m somewhat nonplussed and a little disappointed. Not a bad beer, but not up to So. Tier’s usual standard.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, cream, marshmallow, roasted malts, and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is roastier, with dark chocolate, burnt marshmallow, molasses, bitter earthy hops. Medium-bodied, with a sweet and bitter mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Good sweet stout, and shows some hops fresh.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, as pictured. Pours dark brown/black with a full tan head. Tastes lightly of honey and nuts, and smells similar. Nothing too wild in this one, but it’s good.

Bottle from Woodmans in the Falls. Pours opaque black with reddish tints. Aroma has bittersweet chocolate, some coffee and some anise. Taste brings bakers chocolate, licorice, burnt malts. Somewhat sweet and distinctly bitter. Finishes long and bitter. Interesting blend. Not specifically "stout"y.
