3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours crystal clear, vibrantly gold, with a moderate head that recedes in quite a rocky manner. Lots of citrus on the nose. Slightly sweet, a wee bit of maltiness but not much, with a significant bittering on the finish. Resiny hops not present in the nose seem to dominate the finish, so between that and the bitterness level I’d call this one a bit medicinal. It’s not bad, but I’m more of a malt-balanced IPA fan. This one is too hop-dominant and there’s not enough sweetness, malt, or complexity to take the edge off the bitter.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a hay color. Actually kinda looks like that adjunct lager we know so well! Smell is bright. Sharply lemon. A little sweetness. Bracing and sharp. High bitterness. Finishes sharp and a bit astringent. I had this on tap at BobbiQue’sand enjoyed it much, much more. Here, from the bottle, it’s kinda "meh". I enjoy the bitterness and high ABV load but that’s about it. I’ll reach for another IIPA or go for it on tap only.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Clear, golden colour. Small white head, leaving a little lacing. Concentrated, complex hop aroma with grapefruit, grass, pine and alcohol sweetness on a malty background. Taste is hoppy and citrussy with a subdued bitterness rounded off by a pleasant sweetness. Medium/full body, average carbonation. All in all very well balanced and highly drinkable.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of roasted and caramel, moderate to heavy pine and grapefruit for the hops, light soap for the yeast with notes of black pepper and lemon grass. Head is small, frothy/fizzy white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then the long finish is moderately acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily with a lively carbonation and a lightly dry finish. Bright and lively smelling hops backed up with a perfect malt presence, and a superb mouth feel. Even the subsequent burps tasted good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Medium golden pour with a pretty nice size fluffy white head and a fair amount of lacing. Very nice aroma. Lots of citrus, lemon, orange. Grass, pine hops. A bit of sweetness to it. Much sweeter than I would have anticipated from the aroma. Strong malt backbone, but plenty of hop power to back it up. Finishes with a bitterness that tickles the tongue. Gets more bitter as you get deeper into the glass. Average carbonation. Hides the alcohol very well. Not my favorite DIPA, but certainly very drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden with fair, fizzy, white head / Bright nose of fresh cut pine, citrus, and bubblegum / Medium body, fat with soft carbonation, some sweetness and malty, but with good balance and finish / Flavors of cut pine, bubblegum, orange, and grapefruit / A little heavier in the body that I would like, but still well done.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Brass Tap. Pours a clear copper amber color with a white head. Tons of grapefruit and citrus in the hopped up aroma. The taste has some very nice bitterness to it but not over the top. The alcohol is surprisingly well hidden at 8.2%.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Courtesy of Gillard. Pours deep gold with copper hues and off white head. The aroma is sweet citrus and some spicy hops. Nice. The taste is pretty smooth with growing grapefruit, tangelo, orange peel and hop spiciness. It has a pleasing under current of sweet smooth malts creating a supporting mechanism for the hops. Seems like a solid IPA but a bit timid for a IIPA.
