Not quite an imperial, but certainly not a standard India pale ale. Our double IPA is a hop lovers dream. Citrusy and clean with an incredible finish.

12 ounce bottle - 1.79 at Hop City in Atlanta, Georgia. Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed body hued halfway between yellow and gold and topped with a medium-sized, near white head. Smell: Hops primarily on display with tropical fruits, extracted resins, and featuring lemon and tangerine, heavy on the pith, giving a dusting of finely-ground aspirin. Some understated biscuity malts underneath. Taste: Pale malts, a bit biscuity and with a touch of waterlogged soda crackers. Minute sweetness. Floral, resinous hops, a dash of pineapple juice and with a snap of citric medicinal tones. Moderate bitterness. Unassuming taste of store-bought pie shells. Bitter, near dry, hoppy finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-plus carbonation. Drinkability: It’s decent, though not as personally rousing as some of their other hop-centric offerings.

while there is nothing fundamentally wrong with this beer it doesnt really take like a double IPA, its more like a single. the flavor is crisp and clean with a minty, rosemary taste of herbal. good stuff

The aroma is very malty and hoppy with both pine and citrus. The appearance is pale gold with a foamy head that fades fast. The taste is like the aroma with clean finish. The palate is smooth but not thick. Overall this is a good beer.

Transparent golden color, this is what a beer should look like. Complex hop aroma, peach, grape and lemongrass. The mouthfeel is ultra clean, crisp and full of flavor. Plenty of hops as well as lightly toasted malt. The finish is smooth with just enough bitterness. In a world where every IPA is trying to out bitter the other one, or load there IPA’s with enough malt to send you into a diabetic coma 2X is a Godsend.

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours clear darkish golden with a lovely, creamy, staying, white head. Aroma is fat and resiny, some pine, pricot, light grapefruit. Low carbonation, light oily but very dry palate. Flavour is lovely, lots of hops. Piney, bitter, some woody tones, light floral, apricot, peach. Perhaps the vinousness of the beer is a bit too much, especially as the hops burn a little as well.

aroma is fresh cut grass, resin present but larger foliage which overwhelms. hints of lime/grapefruit then a move to lemon. appearance is translucent gold, good lacing, filmy head. flavor is grapefruit, lemon...quite fruity. grassiness from nose takes backseat. pleasant clean maltiness comes to play but without creating real balance nor having its own character crushed by hops.

Bottle. Pours clear dark gold with a large, frothy white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, biscuit), heavy hops (floral, pine, spicy, citrus), and average esters (apple/pear) with notes of peach and pineapple. Flavor is average malt (cookie, straw), heavy hops (floral, citrus), average esters (apple/pear) with notes of alcohol and peach. Medium body, warmth, carbonation, and creaminess with a dry finish.

Medium golden pour with a pretty nice size fluffy white head and a fair amount of lacing. Very nice aroma. Lots of citrus, lemon, orange. Grass, pine hops. A bit of sweetness to it. Much sweeter than I would have anticipated from the aroma. Strong malt backbone, but plenty of hop power to back it up. Finishes with a bitterness that tickles the tongue. Gets more bitter as you get deeper into the glass.

A clear, pale gold pour with white head. It has a nice aroma of mostly pine along with grapefruit, grass, and wheat. The initial taste is somewhat sweet with a medium body and oily texture. It finishes dry and sort of salty with medium bitterness.
