Not quite an imperial, but certainly not a standard India pale ale. Our double IPA is a hop lovers dream. Citrusy and clean with an incredible finish.

Pours light yellow with a white head. By far the lightest color double ipa I’ve seen. Aroma is hugely juicy hops with just a hint of sweet malt. Crisis tangerine grapefruit. Smells great. Flavor is just as juicy with a hint of malt sweetness. Really nice beer. Southern tier does doubles really well.

Medium offwhite head. Brassy body with carbonation. Strong mango and oranges aroma with strawy floral notes. Dry-sweet strawy malty grapefruit taste with dusty tropical fruit notes. Full-bodied. Hot, faintly sharp mouthfeel. Dry-bitter aftertaste is pretty much like main taste. Clean, fresh, straightforward double IPA. It’s highly drinkable and good, but a bit hot and not very complex. (0.35l bottle, Vika wine monopoly, Oslo.)

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2014 Alot of pine-needles in the Aroma along with some sour fruits and hops. Taste is very sharp and bitter with all the sour fruits, hops, spice and pines. A nice long end.

Pours a watery light golden color with a faint bubbly ring. Aroma is wet dog, light hops and citrus, and light cereal grain. Taste is light bitter, a pretty watered down hoppiness. It tastes like a watered-down IPA, and not even close to being a DIPA. Their APA is hoppier. I love ST........but this was a disappointment.

Bottle. Pours a light amber color that is clear and has very little white head but leaves nice lacing. Aroma is of light grapefruit and citrus with light notes of pine. Taste is similar with some grapefruit and pine and light malt to balance it out. This beer finishes very clean. Alcohol is very well hidden and it just glides across the tongue effortlessly. Solid DIPA.

From a bottle poured a clear straw color with a small amount of head. Strong hoppy flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

Lightly citric nose, pale golden color, minor lacing and head. Taste leads with highly acidic citric hops, finishes with slightly unpleasant astringency. I guess I’d drink this again.

33 cl. bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Pour is clear amber topped with a nice white head. The nose is classic american hopped. Lots of flowering notes blanded with citric and piney notes and finally alot of malts to gather it all. Its good old classic, nothing sticking out, nothing to be surprised by and nothing to complain about. The mouthfeel is pretty fat and creamy with a taste that is dominated by the sweetness from the malts and the bitterness from the hops. The finish is not that long, and fates out with a harch sweetness.

bottle@Håndverkerstuene. Pours a clear, deep golden yellow with a finger of off white head, loads of bubbles racing to the surface. Aroma is filled with tropical fruits. Sweet citrus, more orange than lemon, apricots, passionfruit, ripe mango. It’s like smelling a mixed tropical fruit juice or canned fruits with a punch. No caramel or sugary sweetness to be found. Awesome. It’s definitely hop forward on the gontue as well, but a stable and unintrusive sweetness keeps the bitterness under control. Very fruity and harmonic. Drinkable and somehow unagressive. Long resinous bitter finish. Body is medium to light. Dry. Mellow but noticable carbonation. This is a solid, well crafted beer. It’s a hop bomb, but not cat piss, and not a sticky malt affair like a lot of DIPAs. Rock solid, if a bit safe.

Small bottle from Vinmonopolet. Lovely grass and pines, fat pine seed oil. Peppermint. A benchmark double IPA.
