Not quite an imperial, but certainly not a standard India pale ale. Our double IPA is a hop lovers dream. Citrusy and clean with an incredible finish.

Bottle, 12oz. A more or less clear beer, golden in color and with a small, quite cute, white head on top. Grapefruit and resin on the nose, not much room for the pale malts. A little orange peel touch too. Good bitterness in the flavor and finish, a bit caramel sweet flavor maybe. Orange, resins and a little malty touch. Full-bodied and slightly warming. The finish is bitter and with a good orange flavor. Nice, quenching and refreshing, dangerously easy to drink for a beer this strong. 100806

Tasted 8/5/10. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a golden hue. White head. Aromas of grassy and piney hops. Medium to full bodied with a huge bitter, raw, green hoppy flavor. Mild cola effervescence and flavor undertone in the malt bill. But totally hopp dominant. Great bitterness and flavor. Nicely done!

Bottled 7/22/10. The beer pours a yellow-orange color with a white head. The aroma is very hoppy with some pine, orange and dank notes. Very inviting. The flavor is mainly pine with some nice caramel malt notes. I also get some grassy and earthy hops and a tad bit of orange citrus as the beer warms. Medium bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This is not the best Double IPA I have ever had, but it is very good and a beer that everyone should try.

355 mL bottle. Pale, with little head. Big resinous nose. In the flavour, you find grapefruit and pineapple as well as the pine. Not much of a malt backbone, certainly not as much as you find in many other, better-balanced examples. This is simply a hop lovers dream beer.

Very nice beer. Pured a crystal clear effervescent amber color with a medium sized very long lasting white head. Virus, grapefruit and pine hop forward aroma. Sweet with a touch of alcohol in the nose. Nice hop flavor with big citrus notes. Covers almost all of the sweet malt. Light body and smooth finish with well hidden alcohol. Goes down to fast and easy.

12oz bottle, no date so i hope it’s fresh, from grape & gourmet. pours a clear, bright, gold with a one-finger, bubbly white head and light lacing. aroma is damn nice with big, juicy, fruit notes of tangerine, orange, and canned pineapple chunks with hints of sugary malts, pine resins, and wet grass. flavor is very nice as well with fruity hop notes of grapefruit and orange flesh balanced by grassy bitterness and light, nutty, malts with a hint of wheatbread. palate is medium bodied with nice carbonation and a soft, bitter, fruity finish. overall, a very tasty brew at a nice price.

Bottle. A complicated beer, part imperial, part IPA, also had some hints of pale ale in there, all at 10.5 ABV. Great smell and a golden wheat color. The slightly excessive bitterness is the only reason why this is not my favorite beer in the world. Taste great in the mouth, better when down the throat. Do yourself a favor and go get one.

The aroma is pineapple and orange. Tangerine, spruce and pine needle sap. Very citrusy orange groves. The appearance is hazy, flat golden yellow. Decent wisp of head. Some good lace. Great to look at. Slow carbonation. The flavor is toasted malts; lovely. The hops are by turns citrusy, floral and woody. Sweet at first with a slightly woody bitter ending. Has the hops of a double IPA, but the bready malt base grounds it. The palate is consistency of juice with a fizzy bite, like a mimosa. The aroma is fantastic, taste is very good. A bittersweet IPA that isn’t over-hopped.

Excellent beer. The appearance is deceiving as it looks like a witbeer but the taste is lovely with a slight hops, slight doughy flavor.
