COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not quite an imperial, but certainly not a standard India pale ale. Our double IPA is a hop lovers dream. Citrusy and clean with an incredible finish.

Draft from Fathead’s. A-pours a slightly haze light orangish amber with a tiny bit of pure white head. S-the nose is quite hoppy with little malt, but present. lightly toasted malt, tons of pine with notes of citrus hops, grapefruits and tangerine. T-the taste is bigger than the nose, lightly toasted malt makes a small presence, the pine is strong with a light citrus hop flavor in the back with tastes of grapefruits and tangerine. the finish is moderately bitter lingering for a moment. M-smooth and syrupy with a medium body and a good carbonation, slick on the back of the throat and slightly dry. D-this is tasty, hop bomb with a great feel and nice finish. clean and tasty!

[2914-20100618] 355mL bottle. Heavy pine resin hops aroma. Clear, medium orange body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter resin evergreen hops flavour has a long bitter aftertaste. Medium-full body. Wow, great bitter.

golden with large white head. firm bitterness before citrus hop flavor that is too understated with a lot of crystal malt flavor that diminishes the hop notes. disappointing, especially from this very good brewery

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2011 Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joes in Pittsburgh PA this beer poured a yellow-golden color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was strong grapefruit and pine with notes of orange and sweet malts. The flavor was strong grapefruit, pine and orange iwth sweet and tangy malts, moderate bitterness, light sourness and a long hoppy finish. Fairly full bodied. Exceptional.

Bottle from SL. Where are the hops? This dIPA came across overall as an average IPA. Aroma of grapefruits and pine, seemed to start out ok. The flavor though, was far too light on bitterness and had a residual caramel and peach/light fruit sweetness that "balanced" things out too much. The body was also on the weaker side of impressive. A nice summer dIPA (not too thick, hot, or sticky for sure), but only because I’d rather an APA or IPA that time of year, not cuz it was a classic. Priced right for what it was.

7/9/10. 12oz bottle into a pint glass. With a somewhat vigorous pour you get a dark golden brew with a big fluffy white head that laces and hangs around pretty well. Big piney and floral aroma with a hint of citrus zest. The flavor is much milder with a big malt sweetness followed by sweet hoppy citrus and leafy greenness. Not too shabby.

Pours a clear honey orange with a thin but stable layer of white head. Aroma is a mixture of bread, soil and spruce. Flavor is balanced; a mix of spruce, caramel and mild wood and raisin. Body is creamy yet light with definite carbonation.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2010 An all around great IPA. This beer is not too strong or too light and can be great on a hot or cold day, or even as a session beer, which can’t be said for many IPA’s. The 4 varieties of hops and 3 of malts come together nicely to create a sweeter piney start and a hoppy finish with a tiny hint of citrus.
