Not quite an imperial, but certainly not a standard India pale ale. Our double IPA is a hop lovers dream. Citrusy and clean with an incredible finish.

Hazy light orange color with a small white head. Aroma is floral, tropical fruit, sweet breadiness. Taste is a great balance between the malts and hops, light bitterness. Creamy mouth feel. Overall a very good, very drinkable DIPA.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold color. Thin head & no lacing to speak of. Aromas of pine, orange, and alcohol. Pretty straightforward for a DIPA. Taste is grapefruit-like citrus hops with pale malts. Decent bitterness with some alcohol on warming. Nice.

Tap from Lazy Dog. Pours a transparent golden with minimal clingy cream colored head. Aroma of floral hops. Very boozy taste at first that slightly fades into grapefruit.

Very clear dark golden pour with a fluffy white head that leaves webs of lace down the glass. Lots of fresh grapefruit and pine on the nose with light malty undertones. Denser grapefruit on the palate with the same piny notes and just enough maltiness to offer up some balance. I get a weird little white wine feel in the finish but it’s sort of pleasant and the bitterness lasts until the next sip. Not a show stopper DIPA but decent and great for drinking in the sun.

Good double IPA. Malty body, with some nice strong hops. The citra give the beer a fresh fruity edge.

Pretty easy to drink for a double IPA. Citrusy hop aromas. Golden clear color that seemed lighter than the average. Medium weight palate with a crispness from high carbonation. Citrus and mild grapefruit flavors with a pale malt background. Bitterness was lasting and the ABV was hidden well. As refreshing as one of this style can be.

Pours a light amber (lighter than expected), with a fleeting white head. Aroma of tangerine, soap, pine, malt, and alcohol. Taste is good bitter resin, surprisingly short finish. Mild carbonation, a good body to it. Decent double IPA.

Transfer from BA review on 3-28-12 - Poured from the bottle into pint glass Appearance – The body is of golden color with a large white head formed upon pouring. The head has a nice persistence, but eventually slowly fades to give very nice lacing. Smell – The hop aromas are plentiful. A nice piney hop aroma is the strongest. This pine is mixed with some grassy, earthy, and grapefruit hop aromas as well with an ever so light bready malt aroma. Overall a nice complex aroma. Taste – A biscuity maltiness with a heavy but smooth pine hop flavor start out the taste profile. There is a very light citrus mixed into the taste as well. As the taste advances, the hop taste while still remaining piney, starts to transition to a more bitter flavor. Bitter earthy tasting hops come on strong toward the middle and the end of the taste. These bitter hop flavors then take the taste to its end and leave a lingering “dirty” tasting bitterness on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The mouthfeel is on the creamier side with a moderate carbonation level. Very suiting for the beer but nothing too exceptional. Overall – The beer has some nice characteristics with a nice mix of hoppy tastes. The major drawback it the rather average body and the somewhat unpleasant bitterness it leaves on the tongue.
