Not quite an imperial, but certainly not a standard India pale ale. Our double IPA is a hop lovers dream. Citrusy and clean with an incredible finish.

Pours golden yellow and orange. Smells delicious with a hoppy over sweet scent. I drank it out of a bottle and it was fantastic with a real strong taste as well as solid thick white head.

(355 ml bottle @ Café Langebro) Pours a clear amber with rich, frothy white head. Aroma is relatively faint and dominated by hops and a hint of citrus fruit. Medium-bodied, medium carbonation, oily texture with a dry finish. Taste is a moderate, non-distinct hoppy bitterness followed by sweetness. Relatively bland and uninspiring. I should probably try it again one day without the influence of previously consumed porters colouring the impression. Girlfriend says: "There’s a hint of kiwi in there!"

A - Pours a rich copper-orange color with a finger of frothy off-white head atop. The head fades slowly down to a thick ring around the glass leaving behind lots of lace. S - Aroma is a mix of strong citrus and grassy hops and some rich sweet lightly toasted caramel malts. T - Starts off with a mix of grassy hop and bitterness with a nice balance of sweet caramel malt alongside. Through the middle, the hops transition to a more citrus hops with a bit more bitterness. The finish is a mix of sweet caramel flavor and some grapefruit hop and bitterness. M - Medium-full bodied with moderate lively carbonation. Feels smooth and crisp. The beer is fairly dry, especially at the finish which is very refreshing. D - Very drinkable. The hop malt balance is very nice from start to end. The hop profile is also pretty solid.

Pours clear golden with a small white head. Smells hoppy, hints of pine and some citrus. Tastes bitter with a nice malty backbone. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and present mouth-carbonation, Southern Tier 2XIPA finishes with a lasting bitterness. Thanks to Jay of Jay’s Beer Reviews for the beer (youtube.com/user/jjrudy41).

Clear golden color, white head. Sweet, creamy, hoppy scent. Berry, fruity, caramel, cream taste. Verry and cream aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
One of the best and most balanced IIPA I’ve had.

Clear bright gold body; thin white head. Smells like double trouble. Strong, high-toned crisp alcohol. Gives impression of sweetness. On the grainy side also. Would be better with more hops.

355 ml bottle purchased at the Rideau and King Edward LCBO (Ottawa), on July 10, 2011. Blonde golden hazy, small head. Sweet aroma of hops, but very malty, citrus notes. Hop taste slightly sweet, citrus notes with some sourness, not bad bitterness. Not bad but a bit off!

Bottle. White head on cloudy dark yellow. Bright woody scent. An easy drinking beer that does not taste like 8.2%! More like a nice pale ale than an IPA or IIPA. More melon than citrus but nicely balanced.

On tap at Bigg Daddy’s in Helen, GA. Gold-orange pour, thin white head. Bright, citrus aromas. Smooth, understated hops on the tongue, with some orange, a bit of lemon and tangerine. Somewhat thin mouthfeel, crisp finish. Not bad.
