On tap. Hides the alcohol very well. Pours a yellowish green color with a small bubbly off white head. Green notes, and lots of hop resin and oil. Very bitter.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Clear golden body. Frothy, white head. The aroma and flavor are more malty than I expected. Aroma has notes of caramel, toasted grain, citrus, orange and grapefruit. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture and lively carbonation. Hop profile should be more forward for a double IPA. Easy drinking, though.

I tried this beer on June 29, 2011 after purchasingn from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a slightly hazed yellow-gold colour with a thin white rocky head. The aroma was citrusy hops, some perfume, pine and bread. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour is grapefruit, spices, and a little malt sweetness. A good enjoyable beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Another lively entry into the Southern Tier records. The Hop is hereon top of theis light yellow hazy beer. For a double I expected it to be a bit darker but it is a well balanced and hearty beer. Great for summer sipping.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a light golden color with small white head. Aroma is citrus, honey, malt. Taste is sweet with nice grapefruit/orange notes. A nice DIPA which hides the alcohol very well but it is a little too sweet for my taste

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice double ipa from a brewer that doesn’t make anything bad it seems, normal dip a color and aroma, surprisingly easy to drink given the normality of dipas to be a little tough on the palate. Very enjoyable

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very light citrus aroma with a pale cloudy yellow pour. Almost headless. Hoppy but not overwhelmingly so with ar esidual tangy bitterness that lingers a bit too long for my full liking.
But strong and decent just the same.

It was hoppy, but I felt like not enough. Maybe I have been altered by other over hoppy beers, but it just seemed a little light. Very clean though and enjoyable. Great starter beer.
