3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle Shenandoah Throwdown 2010. Pours a clear clean yellow with a big white head. Aroma is big citrus orange centennial, grapefruit, some slight tropical notes as well- mango and light pineapple cracker toast and light sweet malty hints. Flavor is a touch sharp unripe green mango, simcoe fruity citrusy notes, orange, tangerine, pine, sappy and minty with a light sweet malt finish mixed with an ok bitterness. Pretty easy drinking for 8.2 but not bold enough or sticky with the hops.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at Red Lion, Göteborg.
Deep golden colour with a big creamy, hop-induced head. Fresh and flowery hop aroma plus some pine, clean pale malty, elegant malt and hop balance, quite simply a straight forward 2IPA nose. Bit woody, cedary flavour up front, elegant in the mouth and not overwhelming, clean with balanced bitterness. Hop flavour is medium, that is not too much which is good. No esters found. Light grassy background. Sweet flowery hop flavour towards the end. Very good and elegant beer!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy golden color with a frothy, white head. Aromas of fresh lawn clippings and citrus. The taste follows the nose, heavy on floral/pine flavors, ending on a tangy bit of grapefruit. A bit lackluster for the style, Southern Tier can do much better.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orange pour, thin white head. Big piney and citrus hop aroma. Lemon, hop candy, resin. Pretty nice aroma. Flavor is strong, clean hops. Little if any malt, but lots of citrus, pine, and fruit cocktail hops. Medium bodied, finishes on a sweet note. Somewhat bitter and maybe a touch of alcohol in the finish. Pretty nice.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is of citrus and pine, but some sweetness comes through. Appearance is a nice straw yellow with a white head that leaves quickly and leaves nice lacing on the glass. Taste is very well balanced and you do not get hit in the face with the ST malt flavor that can be overpowering. Palate is medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, a very well balanced and drinkable IPA...not really a DIPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle poured into my snifter.
A- Body is a quite foggy golden yellow hue. Pours with a 1-2 finger soapy white head. Head fades to a thick collar and leaves traces of lacing behind in the glass. Cloudiness is thin and uniform.
S- Tropical fruit, herbal hops, grassy hops, and a hint of citrus.
T- Taste is somewhat mild upfront and offers mostly herbal hops as well as a hint of spicy hops and tropical fruits. The finish is mostly prickly hop bitterness with some tropical fruity flavors-what lingers is a moderate hop bitterness.
M- Medium carbonation and lightweight drinkable body.
D- This is yet another very atypical IPA from ST. Its light on the palate, fairly clean, herbal, tropical, and bitter. Interesting to experience The different variations but honestly- I prefer the classic grapefruit/pine IPAs.
