12 ounce bottle courtesy of phaleslu. Thanks! Pours a clear pale amber color with a medium frothy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of spicy and earthy hops with some tropical fruit notes. The taste is tropical fruits, earthy notes and an herbal, floral finish. Some toffeeish malts peek through. Medium bodied.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz. bottle. Fresh, leafy, citric hop aroma, full of grapefruit and pine with lighter notes of pale malt sweetness, tangerine and some faint herbal tinges. Light-medium golden amber color with a fine, lasting head. Flavor is very powerfully hopped from start to finish, absolutely dripping with hop resins and background honeyish malt sweetness, with a profound bitterness appearing early and fading to reveal a strongly fruity, citric hop character blending well with the more supportive malt profile. Mouthfeel is smoothly effervescent, oily and cleansing, body is medium-full. Quite a tasty example. This should serve to take the edge off your hop jones for a little while.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Solid citrus profile with some sweet carbonation to tickle the tongue but almost seems like garlic was added to secondary. There is this odd peppery flavor which kind of keeps this beer from reaching a height its heading towards.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle: Aroma has really pungent grapefruit, light grain note on the backend, almost like hop candy with a sweet overtone as well. Appearance is a clear golden with a big thick white head that lingers for quite a while. Taste has got a nice hop complexity, then it seems to mingle through other hop varieties. Like more of a piney, then a grapefruit. Very slight malt texture in the backing Overall I like it. Cheers!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2013 Poured from 12oz bottle : Once again a solid offering from S.T. Aroma is off the charts as always with their IPAs. More citrus than pine comes through. Not overly bitter and quite drinkable. Recently tried their "regular" IPA and it is basically a comparable product.**Re-ratings**Since 10.2010, I have enjoyed the 2x many o’ times. It has become one of my favorite "to-go-to" beers in Southern’s lineup. Even better than I remember. Just on the sweet side, as I like all my ipa’s.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottled August 30, 2010. Pours hazy gold with a pillowy white head that leaves some nice lacing and holds a light foamy cap and ring. Citrus and floral aroma, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, melon, a bit of bag-o-weed, a touch of sweet malt. Good strength. Flavor features more citrus hops, mostly oranges/tangerine, some grapefruit rind, somewhat resinous, a bit of pine and grass, mild malt sweetness in the middle and finishes with good, but not overpowering bitterness. Quite smooth. Dry finish. Mouthfeel is oily and slick, medium bodied, medium carbonation. This perfectly fits my preference for a DIPA....lower malt, lower ABV, let the hops shine. Good stuff! Would love to try a less than a month old sample someday.
