3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at GLBF, poured hazy orange with white head. Aroma of big pine and resinous hops, with a touch of biscuit and caramel. Taste up front is mainly piney, resinous, spicy, and even a touch of citrus hops leading into a bit of caramel sweet to balance and a nice big bitter finish. Great brew, hoppy, bitter, crisp.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Wow this beer really got me in the good taste buds. It wasn’t as thick as an imperial nor as hoppy but it was truly flavorful and great on the palate. Excellent beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
355ml bottle from a kw group private order. pours clear golden with moderate carbonation and a small white head. earthy hop aroma. the flavour is balanced with earthy hops and base malt structure. dryer then most big ST brews. not a bad beer overall but pretty dissapointing from this brewer. id take their regular ipa over this everytime.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear pale gold color with a smallish off-white head. The pungent aroma features plenty of grapefruits, orange rinds, and resiny pine needles. Hints of rye bread become apparent as things warm up a bit. Goes down thin to medium-bodied. A semi-sweet start taste-wise with a touch of caramel and some biscuity qualities. Grapefruits and bitter citrus rinds follow. A touch dry at the end. Decent, but not very memorable. Doesn’t really seem like an I2PA at all. I expect more from Southern Tier.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very nice pine and citrus aroma from a light amber pour with a foamy head. The flavor is similar with the pine and citrus dominate. Not much malt in here. Finish is dry and refreshing.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a mostly clear gold with a moderate fairly creamy white head that lasted until the very end and left a coating of white foam on the side of the glass with each sip. Pleasant aroma of pine with a lesser amount of grapefruit and malt. The flavor is a well balanced combination of malt with some nice biscuit, pine, and a just a bit of grapefruit. The pine is not resinous, but it is not thin either. Appropriate bitterness at the finish is not overdone. Medium-full bodied. This is a very nice IIPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Awesome awesome brew. So crisp and delicious, perfect hop emphasis, dangerously sessionable. Straightforward, wonderfully executed IIPA. I got ripped drinking the first 5 out of the 6 pack last night and woke up with the 6th this morning and it was equally delectable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. I’m gonna go with drowland on this one also. Clear yellowish gold color. White head. Aroma is foresty, plants and pine sap. Lots of floral notes with the hops. Flavor is dry soil hops, citrus, spicy plants and sap. Dry finish. Fairly well balanced.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Cavie. Yellow pour with a big, bubbly white head. Aroma is a little spicy, a little bready, and earthy. Taste is dirty, a little fruit, twangy, and dry. Finish sits on the side of the tongue.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Super light, golden coloured body with a bright glow and a nice thin off-white head - nice! Aroma of pineapple, fresh light hops, pine cones, grapefruit and a good amount of sugars. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong chunky feel with a heavy dose of piney and grapefruity (cascade?) hops. Aftertaste shows some more complexity with malt, sugar, pineapple and some other light fruits noticeable. Overall, a good Imperial IPA, showing the strengths of the style, while losing some of the craziness - this is 8% and only in twelve ounces. Shows good character and complexity, but still has a lot of body for the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 04-September-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 16-September-2010.
