4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Date tasted: July 25, 2013 ... Glassware: La Fin du Monde snifter... Occasion: enjoying an evening of Strat, music and good beer....Appearance: slightly hazy, lightly golden body with cascading effervescence; head is snow white, snow deep and beautifully laced; quite an attractive ale out the box... Aroma: the bottle boasts four separate hops varieties--and the nostril is bombarded by harsh pine cone and soft department store perfume counter, almost lilac and lavender; secondary citrus and grapefruit sneak in... Palate: as expected, a full-bodied, full-on attack at the teeth with a bit of warmth at the end; second and third sips ease the intensity, but the warmth remains...Taste: as promised, a near-mad balance of hops and malts, with the bitterness being more palpable yet not as put-offish as some maltreated double IPAs...Overall: After a rabid camp discussion on the virtues of the double IPA, I made this part of a build-a-six and am not disappointed with the selection...not mentioned among the thirty or so we pleasantly recalled, this beer gets the taste buds titillated while bringing enough disguised alcohol to only need a few for the weeknight...recommended and part of the double IPA discussion for doing much well...

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy, pale golden color with a white head, minimal aroma, grassy, a bit of alcohol. The taste doesnít fair much better than the nose, more grass, very light citrus and resin, some alcohol presence. There is no visible date on the bottle, so I can only assume its past its prime, but I canít know for sure.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy Gold with lots of visual carbonation. The head is lasting and produces a little lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and over ripe citrus fruit. Medium body with a fair amount of hop bitterness that adds a little zing on the palate. Nice crisp lingering finish. A well crafted beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours amber. Two finger head, good lacing. Aroma pine and citrus fruits. Taste is well balanced sweetness from the malts and medium bitter from the hops. Medium body, light carbonation. Finishes citrus, pine with a nice lingering bitterness. At 8.2% alcohol, itís not the apparent in the profile. Nice IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium thick, well retained off white head, with extensive lacing, over a clear, gold (SRM 5) body.....nose is pine, resin, citrus peel from the hops, light floral honey tones, cereal from the malts....taste is mildly sweet to start, with floral tones, leading to pine, resin, citrus peel, and a moderate lingering finishing bitterness.....mouth feel, medium, slightly sticky, light alcohol warmth, light acid finish, carbonation adds nice tingle. From the ABV, this is a light I/DIPA, but all else is there. It is hop dominated in both aroma and flavor, with sweet balancing malts. It would be better with a more complex malt bill, perhaps some oats or wheat. Also more attenuation would appeal to many. BJCP 8/3/15/4/7

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at CBC Brixton. Pours a hazy light orange amber with a white head. Aroma is fairly sweet caramel alongside a veg funk. Medium body, medium carbonation. Quite sweet throughout, though in no way cloying, there's overripe trop fruit, light caramel, marmalade, lemon, hint if sherbetty candy, light bitter finish. Tasty.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A very smooth, clean beer. Not an overly dominating hop taste like the name would imply. Great all around beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice carbonation and fizz with a little head. A little lacing present as I drank. Nice big hop smell! Lots of citrus with some floral in there. Very smooth and you donít really notice the 8.2% alcohol honestly. Great beer and easy to drink.
