11/25/13 gift for RAK week. Beauty of a scent, figs and spices. Appearance is a nice mahogany. Palate is a bit thin, and the taste kicks off a little harsh with a bitter cinnamon but them melds into the figs and orange. Overall, a decent holiday ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a copper color with almost no head. Nose of some cinnamon and spice. Taste strong on the nutmeg, and some alcohol on the finish. Enjoyable, but like many of these Christmas ales, a bit gimmicky. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A nice Christmas beer., Not a huge fan of this genre to begin with, but it did get me in the holiday spirit (even though it’s still a week away from Thanksgiving). Aroma and taste were the same. All spices. Cinnamon, allspice, ginger and pine. Not sure if pine is in there or not, but tasted/smelled like it. Nice carbonation. Decent beer that I could drink one of during the holidays but that’s it.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2014 Poured from bottle. Great aroma of caramel, dried fruit, pineapple and vanilla cake. Mahogany with a bit of head. This is loaded with spices - pepper, chive, oregano, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a touch of spruce. Citrus, vanilla, and banana too. I think I even detect a hint of coconut. Can’t tell if there are any hops. This is a great holiday brew.

12 oz. Clear copper with a lasting small spit of bubbles. Nose is nutmeg, sharp cardamom and clove, and maybe some spruce resin. Taste is a big overdose of cardamom, clove, licorice and other spices. Long after taste shows some nice hints of citrus, resin and molasses and is the only tolerable part of the beer. Unfortunately the front taste is such a spice bomb that it couldn’t even be blended into another beer to save them both. Worst winter seasonal ever.

Pours ruby with minimal frothy tan head. Aroma is full spicy, with notes of fig, cinnamon, ginger, and all spice. Flavor is a balanced sweet malt with earth spice. Body is a bit weak and carbonation is weak. Very reminiscent of glogg! Great beer but a bitter finish develops throughout

Bad label, standard longneck. Clear, ruddy, tea-colored beer; not much head. Spicy, malty aroma. Overly spiced when cold - a bit ham-handed on the nutmeg perhaps - so let this one warm up. Woody-sweet malts, dry caramel. Spice and alcohol burn at the end of a medium heavy body. Faint chocolate notes towards the end, implied vanilla. Not bad, if you’re around a bonfire. ABC, Betton.

Pours amber-red with small white head. Atoms is cinnamon and cloves. Tastes delicious, like magical holiday elves dancing on my tongue. Actually, spicy bread with mostly cinnamon and cloves again and slightly dark fruit tones at the end. Good mouthfeel but not heavy. Overall my favorite holiday drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a very dark, clear red with a medium white head. The aroma has a holiday feel to it, with strong cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and spices. The taste remains heavy in cinnamon. While it keeps the rest of the impressions that were found in the nose, they aren’t nearly as pronounced. There is a somewhat yeasty flavor actually. Short cinnamon aftertaste. I find this light in body. The texture is rather thin, almost watery. Soft in carbonation. Given the light mouthful, I’m surprised that this is 8% alcohol. Anyway, this isn’t all that special.

The aroma is spices, caramel backbone. The appearance is clear deep ruby, white head. The flavor is spices, like nutmeg, cinnamon, orange peel, mint, clove, kitchen sink, etc, some caramel. The finish is purely spices, slight burn Interesting, if a bit of a "done before" feel Medium in body, slightly thick. Good overall. Definitely Christmas-y in spirit.
