3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle from Crossroads Spirits. Pours a clear dark amber color with a finger of frothy khaki colored head. Aroma of oranges, toasted malts, tons of spice (mainly cinnamon), and mild sweet caramel. Taste of overpowering cinnamon and other spices, caramel malt, orange peel, and light citrus. I know the spice is the main focus of this beer, but its too much for my liking.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2014 Bottle poured into tulip glass. Amazing spice aroma from the beginning. Truly a holiday feel from this festive ale. Auburn or mahogany color. Taste doesn’t quite live up to the aroma but malty, bourbon-y prevalence. Falls in line with a lot of the Southern Tier hop-centric collection. Slightly off in the aftertaste but impressed by the aroma. Not quite twice the Christmas...maybe 1.5 times.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A very daring winter warmer pushing some non traditional beer spices way to the forefront. Allspice and cloves are driving here with the cloves leading. Some cinnamon, and scads of ginger are in there too, all backed by a malty American strong ale. Will all of this spicy goodness, I still find myself wanting to taste more beer. Definitely interesting, but the novelty wears off fast. Tough to drink on its own, pair this up with a spice cake or gingerbread.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Pours a dark amber with dark ruby hue. Good head with nice lacing that dissipates . The nose is a WOW of spice. Ginger, cinnamon, clove and either cardamom or allspice against a slight dark malt sweetness. Medium body and carbonation. The taste is like the nose - an exceptional blend of spice against a slight malt sweetness. Well balanced with a focus on Christmas spices that is expertly taken to the limit of flavor. Clean finish with a burst of spice flavor and a nice warm burn. If you like spice, this beer is for you.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
If you put everything Christmas in a bottle, you would get this beer. With a spicy ginger and cinnamon aroma, and amazingly complex yet simple flavor palate, this is not just a great holiday beer, but a great beer beer.

(Bottle). This was the perfect choice after decorating the Christmas Tree. Bright aroma, rich with spices and pine. Mahogany complexion with thin head. The flavor is unique. Festively spiced with understated alcohol. A perfect seasonal selection. I think this is way underrated within RB. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
One of the most affordable spiced holiday ales out there. I always have a six pack in the fridge during the holidays. Spices are right up front in both the aroma and initial taste followed by a peppery sweet finish.

Pours a rich copper color. Spicy cinnamon aroma. Clean tasting malty goodness with a hint of more spice in the aftertaste. Overall, a nice beer for the holidays. Thanks to Kevin for sharing.
