Aroma of pine forest, color is ruby with thin beige head. Somewhat soapy taste, piney notes, but above not readily apparent. Interesting take on a holiday beer.

12oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Dark red (almost brown) hue, some visibility (you could see your fingers on the other side of the glass) with mostly diminishing light brown head. No lacing. Strong ginger, nutmeg, light malt under the spice and evergreen aromas. Heavy bitter spice up front with an average light bitter spice & malt finish. I tried to find the hops but the spice dominated pretty much all the way through. I thought that this was one of the best Christmas beers I have had so far.

Reminds me of a beer version of gluewein, with some of the same flavors. Cinnamon, nutmeg, with a dash of citrus and other spices. It’s like Christmas slapping you in the nose and mouth. With all the spice you can’t really detect the alcohol that much. It is very drinkable since the body is somewhat light for a beer like this and there is no bitterness. This might be one of my favorite Christmas/winter beers.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered glowing ruby red body. Thin beige head. Very forward with the spicing, has a nice fruitcake thing going on, cinnamon in the aftertaste. Smooth and clean on the palate, this is a pretty nice Winter Warmer. Gloggy I suppose. Easy drinking for the ABV. Pretty good.

Smells a lot like G Thing from Magic Hat. Very interesting flavor. Spices of nutmeg, pine nuts and ginger hit you first, but the sweetness is balanced with a hoppy end. Finish is clean with very little aftertaste. Wouldn’t want to drink a sixer but not bad in small doses.

Not bad. Not great. Taste is average. Palate stings. Many better Xmas ales out there. But if offered wouldn't turn down. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone BeerBill

Rcvd in trade. The appearance has a red/amber colored body with a thin white foamy head that must die within thirty seconds The smell has strong nutmeg and cinnamon with some added other "Christmas spices." The taste well, its actually slightly spicy through the nutmeg and cinnamon with a dry spicy aftertaste and finish. The palate has a light to medium sort of body with a decent bitter harshness trying to pound the tongue but ends up settling into the carbonation which comes across slightly smooth. Overall, I say this is a pretty good "Christmas" ale that I would have again.

Pours a dark but clear red with a white head almost non existent. Smells spicy and herbal, honestly a lot like a moxie soda if you ever smelt one. Light bodied easily drinkable and good level of carbonation. Not over flavorful at all, but quite an interesting beer with much complexity. There is a orange/ lemony citrus elements and little but some bitterness from hops. Mostly that herbal spicy flavor sticks out, but not Belgian type spicy, does still kind of remind me of moxie. Versatile and easy to drink, I feel bad for people (myself included) who may have passed on this before thinking it was a fad beer. I’m surprised I’m rating it this high but its all there.

Bottle. DOB: 10/23/13 (I think). A slightly hazy ruby pour with a smallish khaki head. Hot mulled cider, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, oranges, citrus rinds, caramel, candi sugar, and a hint of peppermint in the aroma. Goes down medium-bodied. A unique ginger/caramel/candi sugar combo starts things off taste-wise. Spruce. Juniper. Fresh figs. Spicy as hell the whole way through. A touch of warming alcohol from start to finish as well. Xmas in a bottle!
