Bottle from New Leaf. Clear deep amber pour with a frothy tan head. Aroma of plums, brown sugar, christmas spices, ginger, light dried orange peels and herbal tea. Sweet slightly syrupy entry with notes of dark fruits, Port wine, caramel malts with a quick spiced finish. Pretty interesting.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to motortoddhead. Brown with deep red hues. Pleasant nose of spice and fruit with light caramel. Flavor is sweet dark fruit, slightly tart, with orange zest and cinnamon spice to clear the palate. Nice even flavor, but a tad sweet and syrupy. Lingering spice and fruit cake.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a deep clear amber with an initially fuul light tan head, but being large bead carbonation, the head quickly dissipates. Aroma is hop flowers, cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste is predominantely sweet caramel malt along with the same spices and a bit of hop bitterness. Far from outstanding, but a good seasonal ale nonetheless.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Lots of spice. Lots of sweet. Ginger, nutmeg, clove, candy sugar, alcohol, and candied fruit. A bit much, but that is what 2XMas is for, I suppose. Share this one.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells like Christmas. Tastes like Christmas. 2Xmas indeed! The spice mix is almost overwhelming but very well balanced with the bitter/sweet notes.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
tap at Mr. Goodbar pours a mahogany like amber with a foamy off white head with good retention, very light lacing clings. Nose is strong with nutmeg and cinnamon. I suspect allspice too. Taste is less in your face and is quite enjoyable. This becomes a bit mealy as it warm. The ABV is well hidden, danger Will Robinson, Danger!!

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Enjoyed on tap as part of Delilah’s winter beer tasting in Chicago, IL. I tried 21 different beers as part of this event, and unfortunately this was one of the worse ones from it. I didn’t take tasting notes, but at first thought this tasted like a Christmas tree, but then towards the end it started to taste like cough syrup. Not especially giddy over this one, consistency of cough syrup along with the taste when brought to room temperature. Wouldn’t want to have this one again.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Shared from a 12oz bottle into a mini schooner, thanks Vyvvy. It poured a clear reddish amber color with thin but persistent beige head and lace. I have a Danish sister-in-law who made glögg a part of our family Christmas tradition, and I love it. This beer really does taste like it, and was an unexpected treat. If I recall correctly, her recipe contains red wine, spiced rum, raisins, blanched almonds, nutmeg, cloves, cinammon, cardamom, maybe anise? The aromas and flavors of this beer hinted at all that good stuff, with appropriate whiffs of alcohol too. Really enjoyable, I’m going to be buying more of this for sure!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle from Crossroads Spirits. Pours a clear dark amber color with a finger of frothy khaki colored head. Aroma of oranges, toasted malts, tons of spice (mainly cinnamon), and mild sweet caramel. Taste of overpowering cinnamon and other spices, caramel malt, orange peel, and light citrus. I know the spice is the main focus of this beer, but its too much for my liking.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 Ounce Bottle; Pour is a one finger, modest off white / fine bubbled head into this glass - retention is fairly poor here, however , but it does provide a nice, clear ruby coloration in the typical christmas feeling. The nose is spruce tips, nutmeg, spice, and sweetbread, I suppose. The flavor profile provides pine and spruce initial, moving to cranberry and fruit cake - nutmeg and cinnamon spice, with a lingering bitterness - This was a nice experience - not a mind blower.
