Rcvd in trade. The appearance has a red/amber colored body with a thin white foamy head that must die within thirty seconds The smell has strong nutmeg and cinnamon with some added other "Christmas spices." The taste well, its actually slightly spicy through the nutmeg and cinnamon with a dry spicy aftertaste and finish. The palate has a light to medium sort of body with a decent bitter harshness trying to pound the tongue but ends up settling into the carbonation which comes across slightly smooth. Overall, I say this is a pretty good "Christmas" ale that I would have again.

Interesting. Poured deep garnet with lacy head. Very "deep" in the mouth. Heavy tasting. Good but could not have more then one.

Bottle shared at Exira Beer Summit 2012. Pours a deep brown color with white head. Spiced, malty, cinnamon, brown sugar, nutmeg aromas and flavors. Very spiced flavors, maybe overly spiced. Probably wouldn’t want to drink a full beer of this.

Bottle. Lots of spice in the nose with heavy notes of clove. I haven’t had a lot of glogg, which is usually served warm, so I don’t have an expert opinion on how close this brew is to glogg. However, knowing how well Southern Tier nails their beers and how unique this brew is, I’m fairly certain it’s a close match. Really tasty once it warms.

12oz bottle from Crossroads Spirits. Pours a clear dark amber color with a finger of frothy khaki colored head. Aroma of oranges, toasted malts, tons of spice (mainly cinnamon), and mild sweet caramel. Taste of overpowering cinnamon and other spices, caramel malt, orange peel, and light citrus. I know the spice is the main focus of this beer, but its too much for my liking.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Mahogany-cherry amber colored pour with a quick lasting off-white fizzy head. The spices in the aroma include a big dose of ginger and nutmeg, clove and allspice. Light hop note. Medium body. The booze tends to kick in more in the taste than on the nose along with the ginger and peppery spices. The finish lingers and ends dry.

12oz bottle - pours amber with quickly diminishing tan head. Nose is nutmeg. Flavor adds caramel, spices, and a general potpourris. Medium body. Mildly sweet. Festive but I wouldn’t drink two.

ROGUE (2127) - Newark, Delaware, USA - DEC 27, 2012
12oz bottle. Pours a deep ruby reddish brown color with a one finger cream head. Heavy scents of spices, malted barley, dried fruit, and booze. Taste is heavy on the spices with cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. A very malty backbone with some hop bitterness too. Very boozy finish and aftertaste. The body was light and creamy with mild carbonation and a slick finish.
