3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Poured a nice shade of reddish-amber with a short darker beige head. The aroma picked up a lot of warm, wintery spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and vanilla came to mind) with sweet figs and biscuity malts supporting.. warm and welcoming. The flavor found tangy, peppery spices and orange peel on the tip of the tongue, with figs, molasses, and caramel following.. cinnamon and nutmeg around.. finished with warm spices, figs, and molasses on the finish. Medium-bodied, warm, and spicy on the palate.. this was tasty stuff.

Heavily spiced but not a bad chritmas ale, backing spice form the hops, decent malt.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper tinged brown amber with a thin beige head. Smells like warm cookies, spices and warm figs, toasty malt. Medium bodied, quite spicy. A touch of caramel, malt, toast, more spices. A bit of fig and plum, bitter spices and malt. Spices were great on the nose but come out a bit heavy handed in terms of flavor. It’s no pumpkin but it’s decent enough I guess.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Brick Store. Pours a clear deep amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of cinnamon, nutmeg and other spice with a hint of backing sweet grains. Flavor starts with the spices listed above and a growing note of earthy deep from the grain.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the brewery. Pours a deep amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma has a ton of winter spices- juniper, nutmeg, allspice- tons of spice on top of caramel malts, toast, and nuts. Flavor is the same. Some faint berry notes, too. Medium-bodied, with a spicy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. I liked the spice but understand that others may not. Maybe it was also enhanced by drinking it fresh, in the winter, and at the source. Good beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Deep ruby, thin frothy beige head, dies quickly, little lacing.   Strong clove and allspice... and I mean strong.   Spicy start, clove, gingerbread, and allspice.   Could pass as a Pumpkin Beer.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finish is extremely spicy.   Almost too much in fact.   This one was just an over abundance of spices that made it hard to finish even a 12oz bottle.   Very bright spiciness is nice, but this one was over the top spicy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at sb. Pours a murky dark amber with a dense and creamy tan head. Big candied ginger nose, very much like a cascade dish soap. With sheeting action. Creamy medium body lively carb. Ginger, molasses, and dish detergent mid palate. Long molasses ginger finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle. Strong spice aroma up front. I wish there was a bit more hearty malt to balance it out, it’s pretty much all spice here. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and etc. Bitter taste, with a strong spice bite. Some honey, orange peel. Dark, clear red color, minimal khaki head. Only a couple loose dots of lace. Dry texture, medium body, lighter carbonation. It does get better as it sits and warms though
