3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz. bottle: this one pours a clear, lighter amber color. There was a small off-white head that didn’t linger long or leave any lacing. Surprisingly lighter aroma for an 8% beer. Some sweet malts, a hint of rye and a hint of spices. The taste is good, but not too exciting. Malts, with just a hint of sweetness. A touch of the rye and spices. Good, but could be better.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: It has a deep honey amber color with a very slight haze. There is some visible carbonation and a tall thick head on top. Head retention and lacing is very good.Smell: The nose is big has some solid malty sweetness along with some deep citrus hop notes.Taste / Palate: There is a big full bodied malty base with a good mix of bready sweetness and spice up front. This is quickly balanced with solid hop bitterness and orange like citrus hop flavor notes.

Clear, intense medium orange-amber beer. Filmy head. Nice citrusy malt aroma -- gel-like. Woody bitterness up front some vegetal notes, lightly sweet and toasty. Lingering bitter finish. Light but starchy-feeling body. Some off notes in the finish. Nice malting, generally. On tap, Baby Proof, upstairs.

Ruddy brown pour. Aroma and flavor both have great toasty rye character. Really quite good.

3/17/14. Draft at Mateos. Pours with a nice two finger head. Wonderful hop nose with piney notes. As expected, nice thick mouthfeel with deep complex malts and hop profile. Finishes strong.
