4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Amber brew with thin head that fades fast. Smells of Rye and caramel. Can taste the malty sweetness but the Rye takes over the taste with a nice pepper spice that makes this brew very good. This one has a thickness that coats the toungue but doesn’t leave a syrup finish, rather leaves the lingering taste of malts and spice. Excellent brew.

Pours a light, copper with fluffy off-white head and decent lacing. I know people have said this is really an IPA but I am not getting that at all in the aroma which is rye and malt. Taste is sweet at first with caramel notes but then there is some rye but it is not as intense as I had expected. There is also a hint of spice and then there is some hop bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied and very easy to drink considering the 8.1% abv.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
12oz bottle. Bright orange pour with some red highlights. Thin, splotchy head. Aroma includes rich malt, complex hops, and grainy rye. Flavors are equally complex and interesting. Earthy notes that are really nice. Great job from a brewer that knows how to handle extreme beers.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Light amber, tall head, little persisting lace.
Beautiful and faint floral nose,
Medium body but higher flavor strength, low heat for alcohol strength,
Bittersweet, low acidity, balanced and long finish.
Enjoyable but nothing special.

On tap, has some surprisingly roasty malts for a rye ipa. Medium body and medium bitterness.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle for 1.99. Pours clear copper with a white head. Aroma is huge rye and malt with a little grainy backing as well. Taste is pretty similar with a smooth bitterness on the back end. Above average body with a creamy texture. Overall a very good rye IPA and another great beer from Southern Tier.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a mostly clear gold with a moderate off-white head that lasted until the final sip and laced the glass completely all the way to the end. Pleasant aroma of malt with some rye grain, a bit of caramel, and a few wisps of citrus. The flavor is malt with again a bit of caramel and some mild spicy rye grain. Mild bitterness at the finish. Fairly well rounded mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden. Enjoyable.
