Orange hue slim head faint wheat aroma. Very light fruity wheat. Not extremely sweet like most. Iíd call it a wheat lite.

bottle aroma, some hops, light grassy wheat maltness color, amber straw hue, bubbly head taste, smooth mellow composite of hops and wheat malt, nice balance, light on the palate overall, good summer beer

Bottle. Pours pale light gold with a small ring of soapy lace. Aromas of wheat twang, floral/light citrus hops, and a bit of cat piss. Flavor is light and this is super drinkable. Light earthy hops, wheat, and flowers make up the flavor. A strange mix of flavors and aromas here, but the drinkability is insane. Ehhh decent but nothing to write home about....

A good beer with no head. And a straightforward hoppy taste. Golden with only limited wheat visual identity

Hooray for Earth Day! Southern Tier aims to appreciate our planet with the joy of their Pale Wheat Ale. When drinking this I imagine lying on a grass field soaking in the sun. In reality Iím sitting in my bedroom on a cold winter night. The beer pours an absolutely bright golden color, shimmering clear through the glass. It looks almost like champagne as bubbles rapidly rise to the top of a small white head. The smell is faintly grassy with some orange/tangerine aromas and a bit of sourness. Taste also has a grassy flavor consisting of some lemony fruit and a touch of hay. The finish is earthy with light hop base. Iíd ask for more hop presence to kick up the palate a notch, for itís a bit too light leaving much to be desired. Given the right setting and outdoor temperature Iím sure this beer can do wonders, but for right now Iím just slightly buzzed and ready for bed.

Pretty much what you would expect from the name, a pale, wheat, ale. Aroma of wheat and light hops. Good carbonation, light bitterness.

Semi-cloudy with golden color and medium white creamy head. Aroma is wheat forward and dry with graininess. Grain is the first and most prominent flavor characteristic with wheat, banana and spice following it up, slightly metallic as well. Medium body with nice carbonation. Nice drinker.

Appearance: Itís a slightly hazy orange color with about a finger of soapy white head.

Aroma: Thereís a little bit of a wheaty earthiness to it, but it isnít a smell that knocks me back. Some hops, but not much.

Taste: The flavor falls into a grey for me because of the fact that Southern Tier is billing it as a ďpale wheat ale.Ē Unfortunately, I donít get much of the American wheat beer style beyond a touch of a spiciness mixed with some fresh cut grass. I also donít get too much hops in the palate, either.

Overall: My problem with this beer is that there isnít really anything about it that makes me crave it at all. It is between two styles, and Iím not sure that it is adequately capturing either of the parts of each that I enjoy. By no means is this a bad beer, but I guess itís a hybrid that doesnít quite bring anything beyond the sum of its parts.

Score: 6/10

Yellow, cloudy, wheaty. Very understated. A teensy sweet and a little bitter. Ok, but not that interesting.
