3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 5 July 2013) Reddish brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, fruity, vinous nose with dried fruit, caramel and pine needles. Malty, fruity, slightly roasted taste with notes of black-currant, toast, dark fruit, burnt rubber and a generous spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness and a light alcohol burn. Very nice.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Uno’s Hamilton during Philly Beer Week. The beer was pretty good. It simply did not stand up to Firestone Walker Sucaba, Founders Backwoods Bastard, or the 2 Uinta Beers that I had during this particular session. It would have been a standout if it was in the future sessions with the Weterbacher beers. Oh well

Amber pour, very little head, no carbonation. Strong aroma of tangerine and toffee. Lots of citrus up front in this one - Tangerine, Orange, caramel, alcohol, oak is present but not overpowering by any stretch. Fullbodied. Nice winter sipper!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours clear and reddish copper with a scrumptious head of beige foam that fell to a thick cap and bewitching lace. Effervescing. Nose is strawberry, mango and sweet malt. Carmel toffee and as it warms sugar and molasses. Floral , oaky, and a little bread and butter. A musty breeze. First taste is sweet and then some. Juicy strawberry and mango and then the malt lays in it’s sweetness. There’s some alcohol warmth but on the second sip it’s alcohol on the palate. A touch of bitter to coat the throat as it goes down and some alcohol dryness. A bit of bread and butter in the dry finish. Body is thick and syrupy but also smooth and silky considering the candy sweetness and the alcohol presence. I am beginning to see why some people say that Southern Tier makes very sweet beers.
